One of the most common reasons to search for a dentist is pain in one or more teeth. While sudden discomfort could occur for many different reasons, including sinus problems, one that persists for more than a day could mean trouble. For example, a lasting toothache could be caused by dental caries, the early stages of a dental infection, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding and clenching. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a dentist. Doctors Network can help connect you to a dentist in the Selma, AL area who takes Aetna!

When the dental professional examines your teeth, imaging technology is used to assess the cause and extent of the cavity. From there, the appropriate treatment option is chosen. For kids and adults alike, a tooth-filling made from a composite resin could bring relief. A dental crown could also be used to address more severe cases. If possible, the dentist will take steps to utilize more lifelike options, so they offer a natural appearance. If you have persistent discomfort, use our search module to find Selma dentists and request an appointment in seconds.

Did you ever notice popping or cracking when you open your mouth? Do you have persistent migraines? If so, this could be related to widespread jaw joint disorders. Around twenty-five million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only lead to painful symptoms, but actually damage the teeth too! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can find the right dental office in Selma, AL who accepts Aetna.

While very different from one another, we often find these are related. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems with jaw function. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, face, and neck. Bruxism means you grind or clench your teeth nightly. The pressure of clenching could cause headaches and jaw pain. Teeth grinding could also weaken and damage the tooth structure. This damage could lead to decay, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could mean eventual teeth grinding, and vice-versa. When you have chronic pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Selma who accepts Aetna.

Treatment options often vary; for some, relief is possible following dental bonding, which improves bite balance. For others, treating misalignment with orthodontic treatment could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dentists is a custom splint, which fits like a mouthguard. If you need to find treatment from a Selma dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have an infected tooth that needs treatment? If so, the placement of a dental crown could prevent further complications. The dental crown is crafted for your dentition and can provide function, health, and beauty to your smile. Our team can help connect you to a Selma, AL dental professional who can restore your smile, and also who will accept Aetna. Do not risk an abscessed tooth!

Your first signs of trouble could be a tooth sensitivity. This could be due to the presence of a cavity. As tooth sensitivity worsens, you could risk the spread of infection or even tooth loss. A trauma that breaks a tooth could also lead to complications like infection and tooth decay with time. In such cases, restorative treatment is usually necessary. If the problem is too severe for a dental filling, then you may need crown placement.

The crown is a full restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire visible portion of your tooth. They could be made from durable materials like metal. However, lots of dentists in the Selma, AL area offer more aesthetic options fabricated from ceramic. The total placement process takes one to two visits on average. The restoration, whether we use a metal or more aesthetic options, will be custom-made for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic ensures a balanced occlusion, protecting your dentition from the development of TMD. If you have a tooth that needs treatment then use Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental offices that fit your needs and accept Aetna.

It is paramount for your little ones to visit a dental professional bi-yearly for checkups and cleanings. By teaching your kids how to take care of their teeth, you are ensuring that they have the tools to have healthy smiles for ever. If you are looking for a kids’ dentist in Selma who accepts Aetna, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering exams and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little children with sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a barrier between their back molars and harmful bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of dental caries by up to 80 percent. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing cavities on adult teeth in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another proven tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps strengthen your child’s teeth. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to damage. Fluoride treatment prevents this from happening. Using toothpaste that has fluoride can also help. For more information, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our pediatric dentists in Selma.

Many people would be ecstatic to have a whiter smile. When you stroll down the aisles of any pharmacy, you see numerous products that promote their teeth whitening abilities. If you have purchased any of these, you know that they almost always provide disappointing results. However, professional tooth bleaching can actually produce a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Selma, AL that works with Aetna, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Selma dental practice, they can provide you with either an in-office or even at-home option. Should you opt for treatment in the office, you will only have to stay for roughly an hour. For this option, your dentist will apply a gel solution to your teeth that they will then activate with a special light, to remove stains.

If you would prefer to get an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe bleaching solution. You will put these on for one or two hours each day for approximately two weeks. Once this treatment is complete, you will have a brighter smile. If you would like to book a consultation online with a Selma dentist that takes Aetna, we can help you find a fantastic one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
