Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

tooth-bonding

If you have a chipped tooth or one that is misshapen or stained, then you need a cosmetic treatment. With contouring and dental bonding in Snead, AL, these and other aesthetic imperfections can be treated in one visit. At Doctors Network, we aim to help connect you with a general dentist in Snead, AL who takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and offers cosmetic dentistry. You may be surprised to discover just how much these two treatments can do in only one sitting.

Dental bonding repairs esthetic concerns with composite resin materials. The composite resin, a blend of glass and acrylic particles, is shaded and applied to the teeth. Snead dentists also use this material to repair dental caries. With dental contouring, the dentist sands and polishes the outer tooth enamel or restoration to correct your damaged or malformed tooth.

Today we are honoring our Brooklyn dental practices. Using both services, these dentists will be able to reshape malformed teeth, repair dental damage, mask stains on teeth, and even close embarrassing spaces between teeth.

Do you have a severely decayed tooth that needs treatment? If so, the placement of a dental crown could help. The restoration is crafted for your dentition and can return beauty, function, and health to your smile. Our team can help find you a Snead, AL dentist who can restore your teeth, and also who will accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Do not risk an abscessed tooth!

Your first signs of trouble could be an aching tooth. This could mean the presence of tooth decay. As discomfort worsens, you could risk the spread of infection or even tooth loss. A trauma that breaks a tooth could also lead to complications like tooth decay or infection with time. In these situations, restorative treatment is usually necessary. If the tooth defect is too severe for a dental filling, then you may need to receive a dental crown.

The dental crown is a complete dental restoration. Once placed, this will cover everything above the gum line. They could be made from durable materials like gold. However, lots of cosmetic dentists in the Snead, AL area offer more natural options made from ceramic. The total placement process takes about two visits to complete. The crown, whether we use a metal or more natural-looking options, will be created specifically for your tooth. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic ensures a balanced bite, protecting your teeth from the development of TMD. If you have a tooth that needs treatment then use Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental offices that meet your needs and accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

It is paramount for your little ones to visit the dentist twice a year for checkups and cleanings. By teaching your kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the skills to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a kids’ dentist in Snead who takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little one with dental sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their adult molars and harmful germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of dental caries by up to 80%. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another proven tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps fortify your child’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most durable substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your kid’s teeth become more susceptible to cavities. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using toothpaste that has fluoride can also help. For more information, we invite you to schedule an appointment with one of our pediatric dentists in Snead.

Many individuals would be ecstatic to have a whiter smile. When you walk down the aisles of any grocery store, you see numerous products that tout their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide unsatisfying results. However, professional tooth whitening can actually give you a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Snead, AL that works with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find one that offers professional whitening.

When you visit your Snead dental practice, they can provide you with either an in-office or at-home treatment. With the in-office option, you will typically be out within about an hour, and you will have noticeably whiter teeth. When you visit the office for whitening, your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel that, when activated by a special light, will get rid of stains.

If you would prefer to go with an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe bleaching or peroxide solution. You will put these on for a couple of hours each day for approximately two weeks. Once this treatment is done, you will have a brighter smile. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a Snead dentist that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find a great one.

If it has been over six months since you last went to a dentist, you probably should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. When you go in for bi-annual visits, your dentist can thoroughly examine your mouth to make sure nothing is amiss. This helps prevent caries from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more costly procedures down the road. If you need to schedule a checkup with a dentist in Snead, AL that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield we can help you find a great match.

To begin your visit, a hygienist will clean your teeth thoroughly. This will remove plaque that is difficult to remove at home — even with fantastic brushing and flossing habits. The cleaning will leave your mouth feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Once your cleaning is over, your Snead dentist will begin his examination. During this portion of your appointment, the dentist will thoroughly look at your mouth to identify any potential problems. If they find anything amiss, they will explain your treatment options. The Snead dental practice we set you up with will offer a wide range of services to address a variety of dental complications. If you attend regularly scheduled checkups they can monitor the health of your smile. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment online with a dentist that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
