sleep-apnea-treatment

When you suffer from chronic snoring, you may not assume a dentist near you could help. But in fact, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield dentists can provide a comfortable and noninvasive solution to help you breathe without interruption. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) means that when you sleep, the soft palate and the tissues around the throat collapse and cut off airflow. Patients actually stop breathing for a few seconds until the brain wakes them. Even as you think you slept well, you could feel tired! But when is it necessary to contact Doctors Network and find Gateway, AK dentists who offer OSA treatment?

Symptoms of OSA include snoring on a nightly basis. Daytime drowsiness, and even irritability could be factors too. With no intervention, OSA could strain your immune system and your cardiovascular health. When you experience similar signs, consider seeing a dental professional. Often, oral appliance therapy can be helpful as a CPAP alternative, so you can finally sleep well.

This week we are celebrating our dental professionals near NYC.

Have you ever noticed popping or cracking when you open your mouth? Do you have frequent headaches or jaw pain? If so, this could be related to two common jaw joint issues. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from chronic bruxism and TMJ dysfunction. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually crack or chip a tooth! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can connect you to a dental office in Gateway, AK who accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

While very different from one another, we often find these are related. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems opening and closing the mouth fully. Common symptoms include pain in the face, head and neck, and jaw. Bruxism means you clench or grind your teeth in your sleep. The pressure could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also fracture or break your teeth. This damage could lead to cavities, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could mean eventual teeth grinding, and vice-versa. When you have chronic pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dentist in Gateway who accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Treatment options often vary; for some, relief is possible following dental bonding, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with Invisalign could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dentists is a custom splint, which fits like a mouthguard. If you need to find treatment from a Gateway dentist. then contact our team!

It is essential for your little ones to visit the dentist on a biannual basis for dental visits and cleanings. By teaching your kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the knowledge to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a dental office in Gateway who takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your child with sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their adult molars and germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of cavities by up to 80 percent. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing cavities in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your pediatric dental professionals provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps bolster your children’s teeth. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to cavities. This procedure helps mitigate this damage. Using high-fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Gateway.

Many individuals would be ecstatic to have a whiter smile. When you walk down the aisles of any grocery store, you see myriad products that advertise their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide lackluster results. However, professional tooth whitening can actually produce a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Gateway, AK that works with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Gateway dental care provider, they can provide you with either an in-office or at-home option. With the in-office option, you will typically be out within about an hour, and you will have noticeably whiter teeth. When you visit the office for whitening, your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel that, when activated by a special light, will get rid of stains.

If you would prefer to go with whitening at home, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe whitening solution. You will put these on for a few hours each day for roughly 2 weeks. Once this treatment is complete, you will have a whiter and brighter smile. If you would like to book a visit with a Gateway dentist that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find a fantastic one.

If it has been over six months since you last went to a dentist, you probably should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. When you go in for bi-annual visits, your dentist can thoroughly examine your mouth to make sure nothing is wrong. This helps prevent dental caries from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more expensive procedures at a later time. If you are looking for a dentist in Gateway, AK that takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield we can help you find a great match.

To begin your visit, a hygienist will clean your teeth thoroughly. This will remove tartar that is hard to remove at home — even with fantastic brushing and flossing habits. The dental prophylaxis will leave your mouth feeling rejuvenated and fresh.

Once your cleaning is done, your Gateway dentist will begin his examination. During this portion of your visit, the dentist will thoroughly look at your oral cavity to identify any potential issues. Should they notice something awry, they can suggest the proper treatment. The Gateway practice we set you up with will offer a myriad of services to address a variety of dental conditions. When you visit the dentist consistently they can monitor the health of your teeth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment with a dentist that takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find a great one.
