Adults are not the only ones who benefit from family dentistry. Adolescents need routine preventive dentistry as well, and they need to be monitored by a dentist for signs of threats to their oral health. This could include dental misalignment, or for teens, the arrival of wisdom teeth. If you need to book an appointment with a pediatric dentist in Cooper Landing, AK with experience treating smiles of all ages, then Doctors Network is ready to help you.

Routine examinations should begin as early as age two, and should be scheduled twice a year. These visits enable your Cooper Landing pediatric dentist to watch the smile over time, and if areas of concern develop, such as tooth decay, or gingivitis, then treatment might be required. In addition, kids can often receive fluoride treatments to strengthen the outer enamel of their teeth and prevent tooth decay. Dental sealants, which coat the grooves on top of the back molars, can strengthen vulnerable adult teeth. In fact, sealants can last as long as ten years in some cases.

If you are searching for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield family dentists in Cooper Landing who can provide children’s dentistry, let us know. We want to help you find affordable dental care. With routine care kids not only enjoy strong and healthy smiles, but they also understand the importance of caring for their smiles. These visits can start them on the path to a lifetime of healthy gums and teeth. All of it starts with that first checkup and cleaning. So, use our search tool to find the best practice for you and your children!

If you have a toothache, or a tooth that is injured, you need dental care. Otherwise, the tooth could develop caries and infections. Soon, there is a risk of not only missing teeth, but a spread of infection to other areas of the jaw. But sometimes, the damage or cavity is beyond the stage to be treated with a restoration. Instead, the tooth could require immediate removal. At Doctors Network, our team can help you find a Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield dentist or oral surgeon in Cooper Landing, AK who can offer a safe tooth extraction as needed.

As we discussed earlier, advanced decay or injury could be why a tooth needs extraction. But a dentist could also remove one that is loosened by periodontal disease. Taking out a tooth could improve bite balance and chewing function. Extraction could also provide room for treatment with braces! In many cases, this could prevent wisdom tooth impaction. Removing wisdom teeth prior to eruption helps preserve the balance and appearance of your smile. For people with advanced tooth loss, removing the last few teeth essentially paves the way for dentures. Your Cooper Landing general dentist could use the extraction to improve the function, health, and even the beauty of your smile.

Now that you understand why and when a tooth may need an extraction, how do you seek care for one? Well, as mentioned above Doctors Network can find a general dentist in the Cooper Landing, AK area. But if you don’t have coverage, you may worry about the cost. Fortunately, we have a payment plan! Our dental membership plan is opened with an initial fee and maintained with a low monthly cost. For some, this could cut the cost of care by up to 90%!

You probably have lots of friends who have had their wisdom tooth pulled and are eager to divulge their story to you. While this can be helpful, it is still crucial to consult with a oral surgeon. If you need your wisdom teeth extracted, it is important to have a wide range of information at your disposal. This will help you understand what to expect from wisdom teeth extraction and what you should look for in a dentist. Luckily, Doctors Network can help you connect with a great dentist near you in Cooper Landing, AK that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The third molars or wisdom teeth are in the back of the mouth, and there are two on the top and two on the bottom. They typically appear between seventeen and twenty-five. Because they come in later than the rest of your teeth, their arrival can cause problems with your existing ones. They can erupt at unusual angles, only partially erupt, or overcrowd your existing teeth. When this occurs, they are probably going to be affected by abscess and infections. If any of these situations happen, it can be very painful and can affect your existing teeth. If you think you might have complications with wisdom teeth coming in, it is important to see a Cooper Landing dentist or oral surgeon as soon as possible.

If you in fact need wisdom tooth removal, your oral healthcare professional will determine how they will go about the procedure to make sure everything goes without complications. They will decide which of your wisdom teeth need to be removed and how complex it could get. They will also determine the appropriate type of sedation and the position of your existing teeth. Once they ascertain these details, they can plan your wisdom teeth extraction more easily. When you come in for the procedure, you will receive the appropriate anesthesia, so you will not feel discomfort. Your dentist will extract your teeth and look after you the entire time to make sure you are doing well. Once your wisdom teeth are extracted, you will receive information about the recovery period. Fortunately, there are many Cooper Landing dentists that accept Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and can effectively pull your wisdom teeth.

It is important for kids to visit a pediatric dentist on a semiannual basis for dental visits and cleanings. By teaching children great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the tools to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a pediatric dental professional in Cooper Landing who takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering examinations and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little children with sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a shield between their back teeth and harmful germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of infection by up to 80%. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another great tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps bolster your child’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most durable substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your little one’s teeth become more susceptible to damage. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using toothpaste that has fluoride can also help. To learn more, please schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Cooper Landing.

Many people would be elated to have a whiter smile. When you venture down the aisles of any drug store, you see myriad products that advertise their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide disappointing results. However, professional tooth whitening can actually provide a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Cooper Landing, AK that takes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Cooper Landing dentist, they can provide you with either an in-office or even at-home option. With the in-office option, you will typically be out within about an hour, and you will have noticeably whiter teeth. When you come in, your dentist will apply a bleaching gel to your front teeth that is then activated with a specialized light that removes discoloration.

If you would prefer to go with an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe bleaching solution. You will put these on for a couple of hours each day for about two weeks. Once this treatment is over, you will have a whiter smile. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a Cooper Landing dentist that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we can help you find the best ones.
