One of the most common reasons to search for a dentist is to address discomfort caused by cavities. While sudden discomfort could occur for multiple reasons, including sinus problems, one that persists for more than a day could be a sign of a deeper problem. For instance, a lingering toothache could be caused by the presence of a cavity, the early stages of a dental infection, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding while asleep. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a filling placed. Doctors Network can help locate dental care in the Sunrise, AK area near you who takes Blue Cross Blue Shield!

When the dental professional examines your smile, digital x-rays are used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, a dental restoration is chosen. For children and adult patients alike, a tooth-filling made from a composite resin could bring relief. A crown could also be used to address advanced decay. If possible, the dentist will take steps to utilize more lifelike options, so they offer a natural appearance. If you have persistent discomfort, use our search module to connect with Sunrise dentists who are open on Sundays and request an appointment.

Adults are not the only ones who benefit from routine dental treatment. Adolescents need routine preventive dentistry as well, and they need to be monitored by a pediatric dentist for signs of threats to their oral health. This could include dental malocclusion, or for teens, the eruption of the third molars. If you need to book an online appointment a pediatric dental professional in Sunrise, AK with experience treating smiles of all ages, then Doctors Network is ready to help you.

Routine examinations should begin when all baby teeth come in, and should be scheduled twice a year. These visits enable your Sunrise pediatric dentist to watch the smile over time, and if areas of concern develop, such as toothaches, or gingivitis, then intervention might be needed. In addition, children can often receive fluoride treatments to strengthen the outer enamel of their teeth and prevent tooth decay. Dental sealants, which coat the occlusal surfaces of the posterior teeth, can lower the risk of cavities too. In fact, these protective sealants can last as long as a decade in some cases.

If you are searching for Blue Cross Blue Shield dentists in Sunrise who can offer care for kids, let us know. We want to help you find affordable dental care. With routine care children not only enjoy healthy smiles, but they also understand the value of good oral hygiene. Checkups and cleanings can start them on the path to a lifetime of healthy smiles. All of it starts with that initial dental exam. So, use our search tool to find the right dentist for you!

We have reached the time of the year when adults and children will be enjoying sports and outdoor activities. While we hope everyone has a great time, we know that they could sustain dental damage. In some situations, especially when it comes to contact sports, teeth could become cracked or chipped, and when trauma occurs, care is needed. Even minor damages could lead to an increased risk of infected or abscessed teeth. Doctors Network can help you find a dental care provider in Sunrise, AK who can assess the situation.

The outside of each tooth protects the dentition. The enamel protects the sensitive inner structures from bacteria, and from the onset of tooth decay. But when a tooth is fractured, it could lead to painful symptoms. You need treatment even if the damage appears minor. Likewise, you should let us know if you need a Sunrise emergency dentist who accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield for less obvious emergency situations. Unexplained discomfort and objects caught between the teeth could compromise your smile. Don’t forget that loose teeth are causes for concern as well. You also need care if a tooth filling or any kind of dental restoration comes loose!

After you contact Doctors Network and begin looking for your Sunrise, AK dentist, take steps to avoid complications by taking a store bought pain medication. Cloth or gauze can stem bleeding. A cold compress can ease facial swelling too. If a tooth is damaged or knocked loose, recover the tooth or any pieces and bring them with you. They can be placed in a glass of cold milk or salt water.

Gum contouring utilizes laser technology to reshape the gum line and manage gum disease. Porcelain veneers are thin restorations that change a tooth’s shape and color, and for those with uneven teeth, Invisalign® may be possible.

According to the research by the Centers for Disease Control, over half of adults older than 30 suffer from periodontal disease. Without treatment, this disease could lead to painful symptoms, including red and bleeding gums. The advanced stage, referred to as periodontitis, could also cause adult tooth loss. This is why care from a Sunrise dentist is necessary when you begin to notice red, sore, and bleeding gums. We can help by connecting you to one that accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield. After all, your smile is important!

How does the gum disease start? The changes to your gum tissue could occur due to poor oral hygiene habits. Others could develop it due to infrequent dental cleanings, or due to tobacco use, inflammatory illness, certain medications, or even gum disease in other family members. As discussed above, tell-tell signs include discomfort and bleeding in the gums. By seeing a dentist in Sunrise, AK you can receive gum treatments like scaling and root planing to bring relief and improve your oral health. These treatment options could be covered or partially covered with insurance plans.

If you notice these signs, or if you simply have not been to a dentist since the pandemic started, you should book an appointment. At Doctors Network, we can connect you to dentists in Sunrise who accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. Good oral health is always an option, and we can help help you find the help you need!

It is important for your little ones to visit a pediatric dentist on a biannual basis for checkups and cleanings. By teaching your children how to take care of their teeth, you are ensuring that they have the skills to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist in Sunrise who accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering checkups and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your kid with protective sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a shield between their back teeth and harmful bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of decay by up to 80%. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing cavities in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another great tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps strengthen your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your kid’s teeth become more susceptible to cavities. This procedure helps mitigate this damage. Using toothpaste that has fluoride can also help. For more information, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our pediatric dentists in Sunrise.
