Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

My husband and I just moved to Bessemer and needed a new dentist. We stumbled upon Dr. Schambeau and his dental team because of Doctors Network. I had to have a root canal today. My former dentist never told me I needed one even though I did. When I was back home, I had another root canal procedure and thought I was going to faint from the pain. But today when Dr. Schambeau said he was finished, I cried happy tears because I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever. This dentist and his team are just incredible. It’s obvious that they really enjoy their jobs. They’re all very nice and do a great job! If I ever move, I’m taking Dr. Schambeau with me!

tooth-bonding

If you have a broken tooth or a tooth that is stained, then you need dental treatment. With contouring and dental bonding in Nectar, AL, these aesthetic imperfections can be corrected in only one sitting. At Doctors Network, we can help connect you with a dental expert in Nectar, AL who takes new patients and provides the comprehensive treatments you need. You may not be aware just how much these two treatments can correct in only one sitting.

Tooth bonding repairs aesthetic concerns effectively. The composite resin, a mixture of glass and acrylic particles, is shaded and applied to the teeth. Nectar general dentists also use the same material for fillings. During contouring, the dentist simply sands the outer tooth enamel or restoration to correct your damaged or malformed tooth.

This week we are celebrating our Brooklyn dental experts. Using both treatments, these dentists can reshape malformed teeth, fixed broken or fractured teeth, mask teeth stains, and close gaps between teeth.

For stains, professional teeth whitening could correct discolored teeth. Dental bonding and contouring can repair teeth and mask imperfections in one visit. Gum contouring utilizes laser technology to reshape the gum line and protect your periodontal health. Porcelain veneers are custom porcelain restorations that change a tooth’s shape and color, and for those with malocclusion, braces might be the treatment of choice.

Do you have an infected tooth that requires attention? If so, the placement of a dental crown could treat your concerns. The dental crown is custom-made for your smile and can return function, health, and beauty to your smile. Our team can help find you a Nectar, AL dentist who can restore your teeth, and also who will accept your insurance. Do not risk a lost tooth!

The first signs of trouble could be a tooth sensitivity. This could mean the presence of a cavity. As discomfort worsens, you could risk the spread of infection or even missing teeth. An injury that fractures a tooth could also lead to complications like infection and tooth decay with time. In these situations, restorative treatment could save the tooth. If the tooth defect is too severe for a dental filling, then you may need a full dental restoration.

The crown is a full restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire visible portion of your tooth. They could be made from strong, biocompatible materials like metal alloys. However, many cosmetic dentists in the Nectar, AL area offer more natural options fabricated from resin. The total placement process takes one to two visits on average. The crown, whether we use a metal or more natural-looking options, will be custom-made for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic provides a balanced occlusion, protecting your smile from the onset of bruxism. If you have teeth that need treatment then talk to Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental practices that fit your needs and accept your insurance.

It is essential for kids to visit a pediatric dentist on a biannual basis for exams and cleanings. By teaching kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the tools to have healthy smiles for ever. If you are looking for a pediatric dental professional in Nectar who takes uninsured patients, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little children with sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a barrier between their adult molars and harmful germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of decay by up to 80%. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing cavities on adult teeth in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another proven tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps strengthen your child’s teeth. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to cavities. This procedure helps mitigate this damage. Using fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, we invite you to schedule an appointment with one of our pediatric dentists in Nectar.

Many people would be elated to have a whiter smile. When you venture down the aisles of any grocery store, you see countless products that tout their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide disappointing results. However, professional tooth bleaching can actually provide a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Nectar, AL that accepts parivate patients, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Nectar dental care provider, they can provide you with either an at-home or in-office option. With the in-office option, you will typically be out within about an hour, and you will have noticeably whiter teeth. For this option, your dentist will apply a gel solution to your teeth that they will then activate with a special light, to remove stains.

If you would prefer to go with an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can use along with a safe peroxide or bleaching solution. You will put these on for one or two hours each day for approximately two weeks. Once this treatment is done, you will have a brighter smile. If you would like to request a consultation online with a Nectar dentist that takes parivate patients, we can help you find a fantastic one.

If it has been at least half a year since you last visited a dentist, you probably should schedule an appointment soon. When you go in for regular visits, your dentist can closely examine your smile to make sure nothing is awry. This helps prevent infections from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more expensive procedures at a later time. If you need to schedule an appointment with a dentist in Nectar, AL that takes uninsured individuals we can help you find a great match.

When you visit your dentist for a checkup, they will start with a thorough cleaning. This will remove tartar that is difficult to remove at home — even with terrific brushing and flossing habits. The cleaning will leave your smile feeling fresh.

Once your cleaning is over, your Nectar dentist will begin his or her examination. During this portion of your appointment, the dentist will thoroughly look at your mouth to identify any potential complications. Should they notice something awry, they can suggest the proper treatment. The Nectar dental office we set you up with will offer a myriad of services to address a variety of dental conditions. If you visit the dentist regularly they can monitor the health of your smile. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation with a dentist that works with uninsured individuals, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
