Perhaps, the most common reason to look for a dentist is discomfort caused by cavities. While temporary aches could occur for multiple reasons, including sinus concerns, one that persists for more than a day could mean trouble. For example, a persistent toothache could be caused by the presence of a cavity, the early stages of a dental abscess, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding while asleep. When you have a toothache that lingers, you most likely need a dentist. Doctors Network can help you find a dentist in the Athens, AL area near you who takes Delta Dental!

When the dental professional examines your smile, advanced technology is used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, the right treatment is chosen. For children and adult patients alike, a dental filling made from a metal-free material could bring relief. A dental cap or crown could also be used to treat major cavities. If possible, the dentist will take steps to utilize more lifelike options, so they blend with the smile. If you have an aching tooth, use our search page to find Athens dentists who are open on Sundays and book an appointment.

Have you experienced popping or crackling sound in the jaw? Do you have persistent migraines? If so, this could be related to a common but serious oral health issue. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from chronic bruxism and TMJ dysfunction. Without treatment, these could not just cause jaw pain, but actually wear down outer tooth structure! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can help you find a dentist in Athens, AL who accepts Delta Dental.

While very different from one another, these two disorders are often related. TMJ disorder develops when the joints connecting the jaw and skull are stressed. This could cause problems opening and closing the mouth fully. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, face, and neck. Bruxism means you often grind your teeth or clench your jaw. The stress caused by grinding could cause jaw pain. Teeth grinding could also fracture or break your teeth. This damage could lead to cavities, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that cause bite imbalance, and untreated TMJ disorder could lead to bruxism, and vice-versa. When you have persistent pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Athens who accepts Delta Dental.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following crown placement, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with Invisalign could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option most dentists offer is an oral appliance, which fits like a night-guard. If you need to find treatment from a Athens dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have a crackled or chipped tooth that requires attention? If so, the placement of a dental crown could prevent further complications. The dental crown is custom-made for your smile and can give back beauty, function, and health to your smile. Our team can help connect you to a Athens, AL dental professional who can restore your smile, and also who will accept Delta Dental. Do not risk a lost tooth!

Your first signs of trouble could be a toothache. This could mean the presence of decayed teeth. As discomfort worsens, you could risk worsening infection or even missing teeth. A trauma that chips a tooth could also lead to complications like tooth decay or infection with time. In these situations, restorative treatment could save the tooth. If the tooth defect is too severe for a filling, then you may need to receive a dental crown.

The dental crown is a durable restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire outer tooth structure. They could be made from strong materials like metal alloys. However, most dentists in the Athens, AL area offer more lifelike options crafted from ceramic. The total placement process takes one to two visits on average. The dental crown, whether we use a metal or more natural-looking options, will be personalized for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic helps ensure a balanced occlusion, protecting your dentition from complications like TMJ disorder. If you have teeth that need repair then talk to Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental practices that fit your needs and take Delta Dental.

It is essential for kids to visit a dental professional twice a year for exams and cleanings. By teaching kids preventative measures to protect their teeth, you are ensuring that they have the skills to have healthy smiles for many years. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist in Athens who accepts Delta Dental, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your kids with protective sealants. Sealants are thin layers of film that go on top of their back teeth. They work as a protective film that forms a shield between their back teeth and harmful bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of infection by up to 80%. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps bolster your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most protective substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your little one’s teeth become more susceptible to dental caries. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using high-fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, please schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Athens.

Many folks would be elated to have a whiter smile. When you stroll down the aisles of any drug store, you see countless products that advertise their teeth whitening abilities. If you have used any of these, you know that they almost always provide unsatisfying results. However, professional teeth whitening can actually give you a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Athens, AL that accepts Delta Dental, we can help you find one that offers professional tooth whitening.

When you visit your Athens dental care provider, they can provide you with either an at-home or in-office treatment option. If you choose the in-office treatment, you will have brighter teeth within about an hour. When you come in, your dentist will apply a bleaching gel to your front teeth that is then activated with a specialized light that removes discoloration.

If you would prefer to go with whitening at home, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can use along with a safe bleaching solution. You will put these on for a couple of hours each day for roughly two weeks. Once this treatment is over, you will have a whiter and brighter smile. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a Athens dentist that accepts Delta Dental, we can help you find the best ones.

If it has been a long time since you last visited a dentist, you probably should schedule a checkup as soon as possible. When you go in for regular checkups, your dentist can thoroughly examine your teeth to make sure nothing is amiss. This helps prevent dental caries from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more invasive procedures at a later time. If you need to schedule an online appointment with a dentist in Athens, AL that accepts Delta Dental we can help you find a great practice.

When you go in for an exam, your dentist will begin with a professional cleaning. This will remove tartar and plaque that is hard to remove at home — even with terrific brushing and flossing habits. The cleaning will leave your teeth feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Once your cleaning is done, your Athens dentist will begin his or her examination. During this portion of your consultation, the dentist will thoroughly look at your oral cavity to identify any potential problems. If they find anything amiss, they can provide treatment options. The Athens dentist we set you up with will offer a myriad of services to address a variety of dental complications. When you visit the dentist consistently they can monitor the health of your mouth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment with a dentist that accepts Delta Dental, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
