Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

One of the most common reasons to look for a dentist is to address pain in one or more teeth. While temporary aches could occur for a number of reasons, including sinus concerns, one that persists for more than a day could be a sign of a deeper problem. For instance, a lingering tooth pain could be caused by the presence of a cavity, the early stages of a dental abscess, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding and clenching. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a tooth-filling. Doctors Network can help connect you to a dentist in the Grant, AL area near you who takes Delta Dental!

When the dentist examines your smile, imaging technology is used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, the appropriate treatment option is chosen. For kids and adult patients alike, a tooth-filling made from a metal-free material could bring relief. A dental cap or crown could also be used to treat more severe cases. When possible, the dentist will take steps to use more lifelike options, so they blend with the smile. If you have an aching tooth, use our search page to find Grant dentists who take walk-ins and request an appointment.

Did you ever notice popping or crackling sound in the jaw? Do you have aching jaw and facial pain? If so, this could be related to widespread jaw joint disorders. Around twenty-five million people in the United States suffer from TMD and teeth grinding. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually crack or chip a tooth! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can connect you to a dental professional in Grant, AL who accepts Delta Dental.

While very different from one another, these two disorders are often related. TMJ disorder develops when the joints connecting the jaw and skull are stressed. This could cause problems when you eat or speak. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, and neck. Bruxism means you grind or clench your teeth nightly. The pressure of clenching could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also weaken and damage the tooth structure. This damage could lead to decay, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that cause bite imbalance, and untreated TMJ disorder could mean eventual teeth grinding, and vice-versa. When you have persistent pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dentist in Grant who accepts Delta Dental.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following dental bonding, which improves bite balance. For others, treating misalignment with aligners or braces could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dental professionals is an oral appliance, which fits like a night-guard. If you need to find treatment from a Grant dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have an infected tooth that requires attention? If so, the placement of a dental crown could treat your concerns. The dental crown is custom-made for your smile and can return beauty and health to your smile. Our team can help find you a Grant, AL dental professional who can restore your teeth, and also who will accept Delta Dental. Don’t risk an infection!

One of the first signs of trouble could be a tooth sensitivity. This could mean the presence of tooth decay. As tooth sensitivity worsens, you could risk the spread of infection or even missing teeth. An injury that chips a tooth could also lead to complications like infection and tooth decay with time. In these situations, restorative treatment is usually necessary. If the problem is too severe for a tooth-colored filling, then you may need a full dental restoration.

The crown is a durable restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire outer tooth structure. They could be made from durable, biocompatible materials like silver. However, lots of dental professionals in the Grant, AL area offer more lifelike options made from porcelain. The total placement process takes about two visits to complete. The crown, whether we use a metal or more natural-looking options, will be custom-made for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic ensures a balanced occlusion, protecting your smile from the onset of bruxism. If you have a tooth that needs repair then talk to Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental offices that fit your needs and accept Delta Dental.

It is important for kids to visit a pediatric dentist bi-yearly for exams and cleanings. By teaching kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the knowledge to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a dental office in Grant who takes Delta Dental, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering examinations and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little one with sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their permanent teeth and bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of dental caries by up to 80 percent. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing cavities on adult teeth in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another proven tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps fortify your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most protective substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your little one’s teeth become more susceptible to decay. Fluoride treatment prevents this from happening. Using toothpaste that has fluoride can also help. To learn more, please schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Grant.

Many people would be elated to have a whiter smile. When you venture down the aisles of any pharmacy, you see countless products that tout their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide lackluster results. However, professional tooth whitening can actually provide a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Grant, AL that accepts Delta Dental, we can help you find one that offers professional tooth whitening.

When you visit your Grant dentist, they can provide you with either an in-office or even at-home option. Should you opt for treatment in the office, you will only have to stay for roughly an hour. When you visit the office for whitening, your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel that, when activated by a special light, will get rid of stains.

If you would prefer to get an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can use along with a safe bleaching or peroxide solution. You will put these on for one or two hours each day for approximately two weeks. Once this treatment is complete, you will have a more radiant smile. If you would like to request a visit online with a Grant dentist that accepts Delta Dental, we can help you find the best ones.

If it has been at least half a year since you last visited a dentist, you should schedule a consultation soon. When you go in for regular visits, your dentist can closely examine your mouth to make sure nothing is awry. This helps prevent tooth decays from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more invasive procedures in the future. If you need to schedule a checkup with a dentist in Grant, AL that takes Delta Dental we can help you find a great office.

To begin your visit, a hygienist will clean your teeth thoroughly. This will remove plaque and tartar that is difficult to remove at home — even with terrific brushing and flossing habits. The dental prophylaxis will leave your mouth feeling fresh.

Once your cleaning is over, your Grant dentist will begin his examination. During this portion of your visit, the dentist will thoroughly look at your dentition to identify any potential complications. If they find anything amiss, they can provide treatment options. The Grant practice we set you up with will offer a wide range of services to address a variety of dental needs. If you attend regularly scheduled checkups they can keep track of the health of your mouth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment online with a dentist that takes Delta Dental, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
