Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

As adolescents, we lose our primary teeth as our smile develops. However, as adults, losing teeth means poor oral health. Periodontal disease leads to major tooth loss. Since missing teeth at this age isn’t natural, this means problems. You could have difficulties consuming solid foods. Problems articulating could occur. Finally, you could risk damages to your smile, or even smile’s stability. You need an experienced in-network dentist in Spruce Pine, AL who can provide prosthetic dentistry. Fortunately, Doctors Network can help locate one.

First, we will connect you to an awesome dentist in your location who accepts your insurance. Once we do, your new dentist can evaluate your smile to assess your missing teeth. For mild cases, a dental bridge could be placed, addressing one to three lost teeth in a row. For multiple missing teeth, partials could offer a solution and address complicated tooth loss. Finally, a complete denture could be custom-made. While most fulls and partials are removable, they could be stablized with multiple dental implants. Dental implants essentially look and function like natural teeth, and stimulate bone preservation in your maxilla and mandible and facial structure following tooth loss.

If you live in the Spruce Pine area and have lost your natural teeth, let us know. We can get you started on receiving a dental prosthetic. Model-worthy teeth are within reach, even if you’ve lost all of your teeth, and even if many years have elapsed since that happened!

P. S. Please celebrate our dental surgeons in Nashville, TN with us this week.

You can’t put a price on showing off a perfect smile, but as we age, most of us struggle with missing teeth. Missing teeth could lead to difficulty with eating and speaking, and can even lead to bone loss in the jaw. To treat missing teeth, people often turn to dental implants. Unlike traditional prosthetics, such as bridges or removable dentures, these are connected to posts placed into your jaw. Crowns or even prosthetics like full and partial dentures are securely attached to these implant posts. These then act as new roots, so your new teeth can last not ten years, but possibly a lifetime with proper care.

Are you ready to address unsightly gaps with dental implants? If you are wondering how much a dental implant costs in Spruce Pine, you are not alone, but firstly, you should find a Spruce Pine dentist who can offer tooth replacement. Doctors Network’s search tool can help you with this, connecting you to a dental office who not only can address your tooth loss, but also accepts patients without dental insurance. You can even sign up for a Doctors Network dental plan to reduce the cost of your procedure.

The dentist will carefully examine your smile. Underlying factors may need to be addressed before moving forward. But once completed, your dental implants will offer replacement teeth that look and function like natural dentition!

Oral health declines when we lose natural teeth. Obviously, there are problems with eating your favorite foods. Even clear speech could be a problem. However, the major problem is the loss of structure in the jaw. This weakens the jaw, and could even cause a prematurely aged appearance. More importantly, this prevents dental implant placement. Additional treatments could be necessary to strengthen the jaw in order to prepare the gum for dental implants! Fortunately, Doctors Network could help you schedule an appointment with a great Spruce Pine dentist who is in-network with Doctors Network Dental Plan and offers jawbone grafting. In addition, we could also discuss our membership program to make care affordable!

Bone grafting is also known as ridge augmentation. Essentially this enables the dentist to preserve the ridge in your mandible. Your dentist could use various sources. Tissue could be taken from the back of the jaw or the hip. Donor materials such as bovine bone particles could be employed as well. We could also recommend synthetic materials. Through oral surgery, these are applied to the areas of weakened structure in the mandibular bone.

Once the area heals, one or more dental implants could be placed. The body will accept them as natural roots. As a result, they help prevent any further breakdown in the jaw, protecting facial structure. Our team can connect you to a dentist in Spruce Pine, AL who offers this surgical procedure, and also let you know about our dental plan to make sure your treatment fits in your budget!

Tooth loss could lead to major issues for your smile. For example, this could impact how easily you eat your favorite foods, or how clearly you can speak. But the most serious complication is the break down of structure in the jaw. The body reduces the flow of calcium, phosphate, and other minerals to the areas without tooth roots, which in turn causes bone loss and an aged appearance and weakens the structure significantly. Which means you may not be able to receive dental implants to address your missing teeth. But Doctors Network can connect you with a dentist in Spruce Pine, AL who can shore up your jaw.

As discussed in previous posts, a jawbone grafting procedure helps strengthen the mandible, so it can support dental implants. But what about the upper arch? Instead of adding new tissue, your Spruce Pine dentist could perform a sinus lift. Essentially, the dentist will raise the sinus floor to induce the formation of new support structure. The new structure can support your new implants. Once the new teeth are secured, this stimulates the growth of bone tissue to keep your jaw secure. Your new teeth can then stay in place for years, possibly even a lifetime.

If you need to strengthen your weakened upper jawbone to support one or more dental implants, we could help. Our team can connect you with a Spruce Pine, AL oral surgeon who can offer a sinus lift and takes patients without dental insurance. When your smile is strengthened and ready, dental implants could provide a full smile again. If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t let this stand between you and a complete smile. Instead, talk to our team about our monthly membership plan. With a monthly membership fee, you can have treatments discounted by as much as 90% in some situations. A full smile can happen!

Have you lost all of your natural teeth? If so, this could mean major problems for your smile, from trouble chewing a variety of foods, to difficulties talking. Your jaw loses mass and density following tooth loss, which could lead to the loss of additional teeth. In some cases, a breakdown in the facial structures could develop as well. You could benefit from implant dentures not only to replace missing teeth, but also to preserve your facial structures. But what if your jaw is too weak for traditional implant dentures? Then Doctors Network can recommend a Spruce Pine cosmetic dentist who offers All-On-4s.

Traditional fixed dentures need between six and eight implants per jaw. But with All-on-4, just four implants are required. Even if your jaw has begun to break down this could still support a full set of dentures. No need to undergo jawbone grafting or sinus lifts beforehand! These can also often be placed with a denture connected to them on the same visit. In fact, these are often known as Teeth-In-A-Day. Our team can help find best private dentists in Spruce Pine who can offer these lifelike prosthetics. You can even request a dentist visit.

If you have a limited budget, then consider registering for our Direct Dental Plan. Our membership program allows you to pay a small monthly fee, which is set by your dentist, to save significantly on your tooth replacement costs. This helps our Spruce Pine patients find affordable dental care, and obtain healthier smiles.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
