Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

dental-implants-or-bridge

As children, we lose our primary teeth over time. However, in adulthood, losing teeth is often due to injury. Gum disease is the number one cause. Since losing teeth at this age isn’t natural, this means oral health complications. You could have problems eating. Problems talking are a common consequence. Finally, you could risk impacting your smile, or even your facial structure. You need a skilled private dentist in Addison, AL who can provide prosthetic dentistry. Fortunately, Doctors Network can help you on the road to a full smile.

First, we will help connect you to a skilled dentist in your area. Once we do, your new dentist can evaluate your smile to diagnose the conditions for your missing teeth. For minor cases, a dental bridge could be the best option, providing lifelike results. For multiple missing teeth, partials could offer a solution and rebuild your smile. Finally, a complete denture or CD could be prescribed. While most complete dentures and partials are removable, they could be secured with dental implants. Dental implants essentially look and function like natural teeth, and stimulate bone preservation in your mandible and maxilla and facial structure following losing a tooth.

If you live in the Addison area and have lost your natural teeth, let us help. We can get you started on receiving a dental prosthetic. The smile of your dreams is possible, even if you’ve suffered complete tooth loss, and even if years have elapsed since that happened!

P. S. Please applaud our dental professionals in Nashville, TN with us this week.

sleep-apnea-treatment

When you suffer from a sleep disorder, you may not realize it, but a dentist could help. In fact, dentists can often provide a comfortable and noninvasive solution to treat sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) means that as you sleep, the soft palate and the back of your mouth collapse and interrupt your sleep cycle. Patients with OSA literally stop breathing briefly until the brain notices a drop in oxygen. Even if you believe you slept well, you could feel tired! But when is it time to contact Doctors Network to find Addison, AL dentists who provide treatment options?

Signs and symptoms of OSA could include chronic snoring. Daytime headaches, and even irritability could occur too. Without treatment, the condition could affect your immune system and heart health. When you notice similar symptoms, consider seeing a dental professional. Often, oral appliance therapy can be used to keep airways free of obstruction, so you can finally enjoy a good night’s rest.

This week we are honoring our dental care providers in NYC.

tooth-bonding

If you have a chipped tooth or a tooth that is stained, then you need a cosmetic consultation. With tooth reshaping and tooth-color bonding in Addison, AL, these and other cosmetic imperfections can be corrected in only one sitting. At Doctors Network, we aim to help connect you with a cosmetic dentist in Addison, AL who takes new patients and can tackle your oral health concerns. You may not believe just how much bonding and contouring can correct in one visit.

Tooth-colored restoration repairs aesthetic concerns using a metal-free material. The material, a mixture of glass-like and acrylic particles, is shaded and applied to the teeth. Addison dentists also use the same material to fill tooth cavities. With dental contouring, the dentist buffs and sands the outer tooth enamel or restoration to correct issues with a tooth’s balance and shape.

Today we are celebrating our Brooklyn adult dentists. With these two treatments, these dentists can reshape malformed teeth, tackle dental emergencies, mask teeth stains, and even close spaces between the teeth.

Periodontal disease is very widespread. In fact, studies from the CDC reveal half of adults over the age of thirty have gum disease. Without treatment, gum disease could cause uncomfortable symptoms. Known as periodontitis, this is actually the most common cause of adult tooth loss. All that to say, when you develop discomfort in the gums, you need to see a professional as soon as you can. Red and bloody gums are common indicators that you need to see a Addison dentist that accepts new patients.

Doctor Network’s dentist search tool can streamline searching for restorative dentists in Addison AL that accept new patients and can offer a treatment plan after a dental examination. If there is any sign of inflammation, then a treatment plan can be created. For mild or moderate periodontitis, a scaling and root planing followed by traditional cleanings every three or four months could help you avoid tooth loss. For the more advanced stage, there are options like gum grafts, laser dentistry, and more to restore your smile!

In childhood, many of us grind our teeth for short periods of time. The issue tends to be temporary. But for some, bruxism could mean chronic teeth grinding into and throughout adolescence, and the pressure from clenching your teeth could injure your teeth. Chipped and cracked teeth could change your appearance. You’re also more likely to develop tooth decay or even infected teeth, which is why if you have bruxism, you should consider using Doctors Network’s search tool to book an online appointment with a dental professional in Addison.

Your significant other may let you know about your disorder. Otherwise, symptoms could include toothaches and tooth sensitivity. Treatment options vary. Some dentists bring relief by addressing the causes of teeth grinding. They could correct misalignment with braces, or even replace missing teeth with prosthetics. Many offer treatment with custom and comfortable occlusal splints. So don’t ignore the possible warning signs, talk to us about finding the right dentist in your area who accepts private patients.

Nothing feels better than showing off a perfect smile, but as we get older, many of us struggle with tooth loss. Missing teeth could lead to trouble with eating and speaking, and can even lead to a prematurely aged appearance. To treat tooth loss, people often turn to dental implants. Unlike traditional prosthetics, such as dentures or bridges, these are connected to posts inserted into your jaw. Crowns or even prosthetics like bridges are locked into these implant posts. These then act as new roots, so your new teeth can last not ten years, but far much longer with proper care.

Are you ready to tackle your tooth loss with dental implants? If you are wondering how much a dental implant costs near Addison, you are not alone, but first, you should find a Addison dentist who can offer surgical placement of dental implants. Doctors Network can help you with this, connecting you to a dental office who not only can address your tooth loss, but also works with walk-in patients. You can even register for a Doctors Network dental plan to reduce the cost of your procedure.

The dentist will assess the state of your smile. Underlying issues such as periodontitis may need to be considered before moving forward. But once completed, your dental implants will offer quality prosthetics that look and function like natural teeth!

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
