Dr. Greg Hawkins knew that dentistry was his calling after his own dentist helped him deal with a bad oral health situation as a child. He realized that he wanted to do the same for others and started on the track to becoming a dentist. Dr. Hawkins attended Holly Pond High School, then went on to Auburn University where he completed his undergraduate studies by 1983. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1988. Since then, he has been a practicing dentist, working closely with his patients to treat their conditions and provide them with long-lasting solutions.

dental-implants-or-bridge

As adolescents, we lose our deciduous teeth as our smile develops. However, in adulthood, losing teeth means poor oral health. Periodontal disease could be responsible as well. Since losing teeth at this age isn’t natural, this means problems. You could have difficulties consuming solid foods. Problems articulating could occur. Finally, you could risk damages to your smile, or even smile’s stability. You need an amazing in-network dentist in Georgia, AL who can correct your tooth loss. Fortunately, Doctors Network can help locate one.

First, we will connect you to a dentist in your area. Once we do, your new dentist can inspect your smile to assess your missing teeth. For mild cases, a dental bridge could be the best option, addressing one to three lost teeth in a row. For multiple missing teeth, partials could offer a solution and restore bite function. Finally, a complete denture or CD could be custom-made. While most complete dentures and partials are removable, they could be secured with tooth implants. Dental implants essentially look and function like natural teeth, and prevent negative changes to your jaw and facial structure following tooth loss.

If you live in the Georgia‘s neighborhoods and need a solution for tooth loss, let us know. We can help you get started on receiving a dental prosthetic. Model-worthy teeth are within reach, even if you’ve suffered complete tooth loss, and even if many years have gone by since that happened!

P. S. Please congratulate our dentists in Nashville, TN with us this week.

sleep-apnea-treatment

When you have chronic snoring, you may not think a dentist could help. But in fact, dentists can provide a noninvasive and comfortable solution to help you breathe without interruption. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition in which when you sleep, the soft palate and the back of your mouth collapse and cut off airflow. Patients literally stop breathing for a few seconds until the brain wakes them. Even if you assume you slept well, you could experience daytime drowsiness! But when is it time to contact Doctors Network to find Georgia, AL dentists who could offer treatment with oral appliance therapy?

Sings of sleep apnea could include snoring on a nightly basis. Daytime headaches, and even moodiness could occur too. Without treatment, the condition could strain your immune system and heart health. When you notice similar signs, consider seeing a dental professional. Often, oral appliance therapy can be helpful to keep air passages clear while you sleep, so you can finally enjoy a good night’s rest.

This week we are honoring our dental practices near New York.

tooth-bonding

If you have a fractured tooth or one that is misshapen or stained, then you could benefit from cosmetic dentistry. With contouring and dental bonding in Georgia, AL, these and other cosmetic imperfections can be treated in one visit. At Doctors Network, we aim to help connect you with a cosmetic dentist in Georgia, AL who takes new patients and offers cosmetic dentistry. You may not be aware just how much these two treatments can correct in only one sitting.

Dental filling repairs aesthetic concerns using a metal-free material. The material, a mix of glass-like and acrylic particles, is shaded and applied to the teeth. Georgia cosmetic dentists also use the same material for fillings. With dental contouring, the dentist simply buffs and polishes the outer tooth enamel or restoration to correct your damaged or malformed tooth.

Today we are celebrating our Brooklyn family dentists. Using both treatments, these dentists will be able to reshape malformed teeth, repair dental damage, mask unattractive teeth stains, and even close embarrassing spaces between teeth.

Periodontitis impacts millions of adults. In fact, studies from the Centers for Disease Control reveal fifty percent of adults over 30 suffer from the disease. Without treatment, gum disease could impact smile stability. Known as periodontal disease, this is actually one of the most common causes of missing teeth. All that to say, when you develop changes in your gums, you should seek help as soon as possible. Sore, red gums that bleed easily, along with receding tissues, are common indicators that you need to consult a Georgia restorative dentist.

Doctor Network’s dentist search tool can help connect you with family dentists in Georgia AL that accept new patients and can offer a treatment plan after examining your smile. If there is any sign of periodontal concerns, then a treatment plan can be created. For mild or moderate periodontitis, a scaling and root planing followed by traditional cleanings every three to four months could safeguard the smile. For severe periodontitis stages, there are options like laser dentistry, pocket reduction, gum grafts, and more to restore your smile!

As children, many of us develop teeth grinding for short periods of time. The issue tends to last only a few months. But for some, bruxism could mean the issue persists into and throughout adulthood, and the pressure from grinding and clenching your teeth could damage your smile. Chipped teeth and cracks could cause discomfort. You are also more likely to develop cavities or even dental infection, which is why if you notice changes to your teeth, you should consider using Doctors Network’s search tool to find a dentist in Georgia.

Your partner or spouse may let you know you grind your teeth in your sleep. Otherwise, symptoms could include jaw pain and tooth sensitivity. Treatment options vary. Some dentists bring relief by addressing the underlying factors. They could correct misalignment with orthodontics, or even replace missing teeth with prosthetics. Many offer treatment with custom and comfortable occlusal night guards. So don’t ignore the possible warning signs, talk to us about finding the right dentist in your area who accepts private patients.

You can’t put a price on an attractive smile, but as we age, many of us struggle with missing teeth. Missing teeth could lead to difficulty with eating and speaking, and can even lead to an older appearance. To treat tooth loss, people often turn to implants and fixed dentures. Unlike traditional options, such as dentures or bridges, these are connected to posts placed into your jaw. Crowns or even prosthetics like full and partial dentures are securely attached to these implant posts. These then act as new roots, so your new teeth can last not ten years, but possibly a lifetime with proper care.

Are you ready to address unsightly gaps with dental implants? If you are wondering how much a dental implant costs in Georgia, you are not alone, but firstly, you should find a Georgia dentist who can offer implant dentistry. Doctors Network can help you with this, connecting you to a dentist who not only can address your tooth loss, but also works with walk-in patients. You can even register for a Doctors Network dental plan to reduce the cost of your procedure.

The dentist will carefully examine your smile. Underlying oral health concerns may need to be considered before moving forward. But once completed, your dental implants will offer replacement teeth that look and function like natural ones!

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
