Dr. Chris Dawson always knew he wanted to be involved in the medical field. He just didn't know in what way. He earned his undergraduate degree at NC State and worked in the Triangle until he realized his passion for dentistry. He regularly volunteered at shadowing events and fell in love with the way dentists work collaboratively with patients to positively impact their lives using treatment plans suited to their specific needs and desires. Dr. Dawson was then accepted into Dental School at the Indiana University School of Medicine. When he graduated, he attended a residency program at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He then joined the Riccobene Associates.

Dr. Felicia D. Singletary’s career as a dentist and educator began at North Carolina A&T State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Professional Biology. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She then went on to complete a 2-year Hospital Dental Residency Program and was accepted into the College of Physician and Surgeons of Columbia University at the Harlem Hospital Center soon after.

dental-implants-or-bridge

As children, we lose our baby teeth as a natural part of growing up. However, as adults, losing teeth is often due to injury. Periodontal disease could be responsible as well. Since losing teeth at adulthood isn’t natural, this means problems. You could have problems eating. Problems talking are a common consequence. Finally, you could risk negative changes to your smile, or even your facial structure. You need a professional and friendly private dentist in Pinecrest, NC who can correct your tooth loss. Fortunately, Doctors Network can help find a local dentist.

First, we will connect you to a dentist near you. After that, your new dentist can examine your smile to assess your missing teeth. For mild cases, a dental bridge could be placed, addressing one to three lost teeth in a row. For multiple gaps, partial dentures could offer a solution and rebuild your smile. Finally, a complete denture could be prescribed. While most complete dentures and partial dentures are removable, they could be stablized with multiple dental implants. Dental implants are secured like natural teeth, and prevent negative changes to your alveolar bone and facial structure following missing a tooth.

If you live in the Pinecrest‘s proximity and have lost your natural teeth, let us help. We can get you started on receiving the tooth replacement you need. The smile of your dreams is possible, even if you’ve suffered complete tooth loss, and even if years have elapsed since that happened!

P. S. Please applaud our dental surgeons in Nashville, TN with us this week.

sleep-apnea-treatment

When you suffer from a poor sleeping pattern, you may not assume a dentist near you could help. But in fact, dentists can provide a comfortable solution to help you breathe better while sleeping. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) means that as you sleep, the soft palate and the tissues around the throat collapse and interrupt your sleep cycle. People literally stop breathing briefly until the brain alerts the body to resume breathing. Even as you think you slept well, you’re actually sleep deprived! But when is it necessary to talk to Doctors Network to find Pinecrest, NC dentists who offer OSA treatment?

Signs and symptoms of OSA could include snoring on a nightly basis. Daytime drowsiness, and even moodiness could be factors too. With no treatment, OSA could even affect your immune system and increase the risk of heart disease. When you suffer similar signs and symptoms, consider talking to a dentist. Often, oral appliance therapy can be used as a CPAP alternative, so you can finally sleep well.

This week we are honoring our dentists in New York, NY.

tooth-bonding

If you have a chipped tooth or one that is misshapen or stained, then you need cosmetic dentistry. With contouring and dental bonding in Pinecrest, NC, these and other aesthetic imperfections can be treated in one visit. At Doctors Network, we aim to help connect you with a cosmetic dentist in Pinecrest, NC who accepts new patients and can tackle your oral health concerns. You may be surprised to discover just how much tooth-colored bondings can correct in a single sitting.

Composite bonding repairs esthetic concerns with composite resin materials. The composite resin, a blend of glass and acrylic particles, is shaded and applied to the teeth. Pinecrest cosmetic dentists also use this material for fillings. With tooth contouring, the dentist actually buffs and polishes the outer tooth surfaces to correct issues with a tooth’s balance and shape.

Today we are celebrating our Brooklyn dental practices. With both treatments, these dentists can reshape malformed teeth, fixed broken or fractured teeth, mask stains on teeth, and even close gaps between the teeth.

Periodontal disease is a common oral health issue. In fact, studies from the CDC reveal that half of adults over 30 suffer from the disease. Without treatment, gum disease could reach an advanced stage. Also known as periodontitis, this is actually the most common cause of adult tooth loss. All that to say, when you develop discomfort in the gums, you should seek help right away. Sore, red gums that bleed easily, along with receding tissues, are common indicators that you need to see a Pinecrest community dental provider.

Doctor Network’s search engine can facilitate finding dental associates in Pinecrest NC that accept new patients and can offer a route to a healthier smile after a dental examination. If there is any sign of gingivitis or gum disease, then a treatment can be planned. For the early stages, a scaling and root planing followed by traditional cleanings every 3 to 4 months could safeguard the smile. For severe periodontitis stages, there are options like pocket reduction surgery, laser dentistry, and more to protect your smile!

In childhood, many of us clench our teeth for short periods of time. The issue tends to pass on its own. But for some, bruxism could mean chronic teeth grinding into and throughout adulthood, and the pressure from grinding and clenching your teeth could damage your smile. Cracks, chips, and worn-down structures could leave your smile vulnerable. You’re also more likely to develop tooth decay or even infected teeth, which is why if you have bruxism, you should consider using Doctors Network’s search tool to find a dental practice in Pinecrest.

Your significant other may let you know you grind your teeth in your sleep. Otherwise, symptoms could include toothaches and tooth sensitivity. Treatment options vary. Some dentists bring relief by addressing the oral health issues behind your bruxism. They could correct misalignment with orthodontics, or even replace missing teeth with dental implants. Many offer treatment with custom and comfortable oral splints. So don’t ignore the indicators of bruxism, talk to us about finding the right dentist in your area who accepts new patients.

Nothing feels better than a full smile, but as we get older, most of us struggle with tooth loss. Missing teeth could lead to difficulty with eating and speaking, and can even lead to an older appearance. To treat tooth loss, people often turn to implant-supported prosthetics. Unlike traditional prosthetics, such as dentures or bridges, these are connected to posts inserted into your jaw. Crowns or even prosthetics like bridges are securely attached to these implant posts. These then act as new roots, so your new teeth can last not ten years, but several decades with proper care.

Are you ready to tackle your tooth loss with dental implants? If you are wondering how much dental implants cost near you in Pinecrest, you are not alone, but firstly, you need to find a Pinecrest dentist who can offer surgical placement of dental implants. Doctors Network can help you with this, connecting you to a dental professional who not only can address your concerns about missing teeth, but also accepts walk-in patients. You can even sign up for a Doctors Network dental plan to reduce the cost of your treatment.

The dentist will take a close look at your smile. Underlying issues such as periodontitis may need to be addressed before moving forward. But once completed, your dental implants will offer quality prosthetics that look and function like natural teeth!
