A common reason to seek dental care is to address a toothache. While sudden discomfort could occur for many different reasons, including sinus congestion, one that persists for more than a day could mean trouble. For instance, a lasting toothache could be caused by dental caries, the early stages of a dental infection, or as a result of weakened tooth structure due to teeth grinding while asleep. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a dentist. Doctors Network can help connect you to a dentist in the Athens, AL area who takes Guardian!

When the dentist examines your teeth, digital x-rays are used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, the appropriate treatment option is chosen. For kids and adults alike, a tooth-filling made from a composite resin could bring relief. A dental crown could also be used to treat major cavities. When possible, the dentist will take steps to utilize more lifelike options, so they ensure an attractive smile. If you have an aching tooth, use our search module to find Athens dentists who are open on Sundays and book an appointment.

Have you ever noticed a popping sensation in your jaw? Do you have frequent headaches or jaw pain? If so, this could be related to two common jaw joint issues. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only lead to painful symptoms, but actually wear down outer tooth structure! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can help you find a dental office in Athens, AL who accepts Guardian.

While very different from one another, one often increases the risk of the other. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems with jaw function. Common symptoms include pain in the head and neck. Bruxism means you often grind your teeth or clench your jaw. The pressure of clenching could cause headaches and jaw pain. Teeth grinding could also weaken and damage the tooth structure. This damage could lead to decay, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could lead to bruxism, and vice-versa. When you have chronic pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Athens who accepts Guardian.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following recontouring, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with orthodontic treatment could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option most dentists offer is an oral appliance, which fits like a mouthguard. If you need to find treatment from a Athens dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have a severely decayed tooth that needs treatment? If so, the placement of a dental crown could help. The restoration is crafted for your dentition and can provide beauty, function, and health to your smile. Our team can help find you a Athens, AL dentist who can restore your smile, and also who will accept Guardian. Don’t risk an abscessed tooth!

The first signs of trouble could be a toothache. This could mean the presence of a cavity. As tooth sensitivity worsens, you could risk the spread of infection or even tooth loss. An injury that breaks a tooth could also lead to complications like infection with time. In these situations, restorative treatment could stop discomfort. If the tooth defect is too severe for a dental filling, then you may need to receive a dental crown.

The crown is a full restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire visible portion of your tooth. They could be made from very strong, biocompatible materials like metal. However, many cosmetic dentists in the Athens, AL area offer more natural options made from porcelain. The total placement process takes about two visits to complete. The dental crown, whether we use a metal or more aesthetic options, will be custom-made for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic ensures a balanced bite, protecting your smile from complications like temporomandibular joint disorders. If you have a tooth that needs treatment then contact Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental offices that meet your needs and accept Guardian.

It is essential for children to visit the dentist bi-yearly for checkups and cleanings. By teaching children how to take care of their teeth, you are ensuring that they have the skills to have healthy smiles for many years. If you are looking for a dentist in Athens who accepts Guardian, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering checkups and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your kids with protective sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a barrier between their back molars and bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of dental caries by up to 80%. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing cavities in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another great tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps strengthen your child’s enamel. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to decay. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, we invite you to schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Athens.

Many individuals would prefer to have a whiter smile. When you walk down the aisles of any grocery store, you see numerous products that promote their teeth whitening abilities. If you have purchased any of these, you know that they almost always provide unsatisfying results. However, professional teeth whitening can actually produce a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Athens, AL that takes Guardian, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Athens dental practice, they can provide you with either an in-office or at-home treatment option. Should you opt for treatment in the office, you will only have to stay for roughly an hour. For this option, your dentist will apply a gel solution to your teeth that they will then activate with a special light, to remove stains.

If you would prefer to get an at-home treatment, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe whitening solution. You will put these on for a few hours each day for about two weeks. Once this treatment is complete, you will have a brighter smile. If you would like to schedule a visit online with a Athens dentist that accepts Guardian, we can help you find a fantastic one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
