Perhaps, the most common reason to seek dental care is a toothache. While temporary aches could occur for many different reasons, including sinus congestion, one that persists for more than a day could be a sign of a deeper problem. For example, a persistent toothache could be caused by dental caries, the early stages of a dental infection, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a dental restoration. Doctors Network can help you find a dentist in the Shorter, AL community who takes MetLife!

When the dentist examines your smile, digital x-rays are used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, the right treatment is chosen. For kids and adult patients alike, a dental filling made from a composite resin could bring relief. A dental crown could also be used to treat major cavities. If possible, the dentist will take steps to use more lifelike options, so they offer a natural appearance. If you have a toothache, use our search module to find Shorter dentists and book an appointment online.

Have you experienced a popping sensation in your jaw? Do you have persistent migraines? If so, this could be related to two common jaw joint issues. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually damage the teeth too! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can find the right dentist in Shorter, AL who accepts MetLife.

While very different from one another, one often increases the risk of the other. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems opening and closing the mouth fully. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, and neck. Bruxism means you often grind your teeth or clench your jaw. The pressure of clenching could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also damage teeth. This damage could lead to cavities, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that upset bite balance, and untreated TMJ disorder could lead to bruxism, and vice-versa. When you have persistent pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dentist in Shorter who accepts MetLife.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following recontouring, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with aligners or braces could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dental professionals is an oral appliance, which fits like a mouthguard. If you need to find treatment from a Shorter dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have a crackled or chipped tooth that requires attention? If so, the placement of a dental crown could prevent further complications. The restoration is custom-made for your dentition and can return function, health, and beauty to your smile. Our team can help connect you to a Shorter, AL dental professional who can restore your smile, and also who will accept MetLife. Do not risk a lost tooth!

One of the first signs of trouble could be an aching tooth. This could be due to the presence of tooth decay. As toothache worsens, you could risk worsening infection or even the loss of your tooth. An injury that chips a tooth could also lead to complications like infection with time. In these situations, restorative treatment could stop discomfort. If the tooth defect is too severe for a tooth-colored filling, then you may need a full dental restoration.

The dental crown is a full restoration. Once placed, this will cover the entire visible portion of your tooth. They could be made from durable, biocompatible materials like metal alloys. However, most cosmetic dentists in the Shorter, AL area offer more aesthetic options fabricated from porcelain. The total placement process takes one to two visits on average. The restoration, whether we use a metal or more lifelike options, will be custom-made for your smile. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic ensures a balanced bite, protecting your smile from the development of TMD. If you have a tooth that needs repair then contact Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental practices that meet your needs and accept MetLife.

It is crucial for children to visit a dental professional bi-yearly for exams and cleanings. By teaching children great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the tools to have healthy smiles for ever. If you are looking for a pediatric dental office in Shorter who accepts MetLife, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, dentists on Doctors Network also provide your child with dental sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their molars and germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of infection by up to 80%. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing cavities in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps fortify your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the strongest substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to dental caries. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using high-fluoride toothpaste can also help. To learn more, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our network dental professionals in Shorter.

Many folks would prefer to have a whiter smile. When you stroll down the aisles of any grocery store, you see countless products that promote their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide disappointing results. However, professional tooth bleaching can actually give you a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Shorter, AL that takes MetLife, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Shorter dental care provider, they can provide you with either an at-home or in-office treatment. Should you opt for treatment in the office, you will only have to stay for roughly an hour. When you visit the office for whitening, your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel that, when activated by a special light, will get rid of stains.

If you would prefer to choose whitening at home, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill with a safe bleaching solution. You will put these on for a few hours each day for roughly two weeks. Once this treatment is over, you will have a more radiant smile. If you would like to request an appointment with a Shorter dentist that takes MetLife, we can help you find a fantastic one.

If it has been a long time since you last saw a dentist, you probably should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. When you go in for consistent visits, your dentist can closely examine your smile to make sure nothing is amiss. This helps prevent tooth decays from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more expensive procedures at a later time. If you are looking for a dentist in Shorter, AL that accepts MetLife we can help you find a great office.

To begin your visit, a hygienist will clean your teeth thoroughly. This will remove tartar that is hard to remove at home — even with great brushing and flossing habits. The cleaning will leave your smile feeling fresh.

Once your cleaning is done, your Shorter dentist will begin her or his examination. During this portion of your consultation, the dentist will thoroughly look at your dentition to identify any potential complications. If they find anything amiss, they can suggest the proper treatment. The Shorter dental practice we set you up with will offer a wide range of services to address a variety of dental complications. When you visit the dentist consistently they can keep track of the health of your teeth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a consultation with a dentist that takes MetLife, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
