A common reason to search for a dentist is to address pain in one or more teeth. While sudden discomfort could occur for a number of reasons, including sinus concerns or changes in elevation, one that persists for more than a day could be a sign of a deeper problem. For example, a lasting tooth pain could be caused by dental caries, the early stages of a dental abscess, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding and clenching. When you have an aching tooth, you most likely need a tooth-filling. Doctors Network can help connect you to a dentist in the Selmont, AL community who takes MetLife!

When the dentist examines your teeth, imaging technology is used to assess the severity of the cavity. From there, the right treatment is chosen. For children and adult patients alike, a dental filling made from a metal-free material could bring relief. A dental crown could also be used to treat more severe cases. When possible, the dentist will take steps to utilize more lifelike options, so they blend with the smile. Have you ever noticed popping or cracking when you open your mouth? Do you have aching jaw and facial pain? If so, this could be related to widespread jaw joint disorders. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from TMD and teeth grinding. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually crack or chip a tooth! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can find the right dental office in Selmont, AL who accepts MetLife.

While very different from one another, we often find these are related. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems with jaw function. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, and neck. Bruxism means you often grind your teeth or clench your jaw. The pressure could cause headaches and jaw pain. Teeth grinding could also fracture or break your teeth. This damage could lead to decay, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that upset bite balance, and untreated TMJ disorder could lead to bruxism, and vice-versa. When you have chronic pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dentist in Selmont who accepts MetLife.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following dental bonding, which improves bite balance. For others, treating misalignment with braces could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dentists is an oral appliance, which fits like a night-guard. If you need to find treatment from a Selmont dentist. then contact our team!

Cavities are common threats to oral health, and without attention could lead to tender infections or even the increased risk of lost teeth. When you have tooth pain that continues for more than a day, then you likely have a tooth decay that needs filling. If you have tooth pain, and you need to find a dental office near you who takes patients with MetLife, search for dental professionals in Selmont on Doctors Network.

Dental caries form when the outer layer of tooth enamel is weakened. The weakening of the tooth enamel often occurs due to lack of good oral hygiene habits, such as not brushing and flossing frequently enough. A diet high in sugary foods is another common factor. Once a cavity forms, it will grow unless treated, and lack of treatment could actually mean worsening pain and a diseased tooth. Signs of tooth decay include a lingering toothache. When you experience pain in a tooth, don’t procrastinate. Our network can help connect you with a dentist in Selmont for caries risk assessment.

Treating a case of tooth decay often means placing a restoration. First, the dentist will remove the bacteria from the tooth. Next, metal or composite resin material is placed to the tooth. The dentist then sculpts the filling as it cures. The entire process only takes one appointment. A tooth filling helps stop discomfort and protects the smile from complications such as an abscess. If you need to find out the cost of dental filling with MetLife in Selmont, AL, then talk to Doctors Network. You can even sign up for a dental plan and set up a dentist appointment online. We can help you find the right dentist for your oral healthcare!

It is paramount for your little ones to visit a pediatric dentist on a biannual basis for checkups and cleanings. By teaching your kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the knowledge to have healthy smiles for ever. If you are looking for a pediatric dental office in Selmont who takes MetLife, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering exams and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your little one with sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a barrier between their adult molars and bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of decay by up to 80%. It is a simple procedure that is very effective at preventing cavities on adult teeth in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps bolster your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most protective substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to dental caries. Fluoride treatment prevents this from happening. Using high-fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, please schedule an appointment with one of our network dental professionals in Selmont.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
