A common reason to search for a dentist is to address pain in one or more teeth. While toothaches and sensitivity could occur for many different reasons, including sinus concerns or changes in elevation, one that persists for more than a day could be a sign of a deeper problem. For instance, a lasting tooth pain could be caused by the presence of a cavity, the early stages of a dental abscess, or as a result of weakened enamel due to teeth grinding. When you have an aching tooth that does not subside, you probably need a filling placed. Doctors Network can help you find a dentist in the Selmont, AL area who takes United Healthcare!

When the dentist examines your smile, advanced technology is used to assess the cause and extent of the cavity. From there, the right treatment is chosen. For children and adult patients alike, a tooth-filling made from biocompatible material could bring relief. A dental crown could also be used to treat advanced decay. If possible, the dentist will take steps to use more lifelike options, so they offer a natural appearance. If you have persistent discomfort, use our search module to find Selmont dentists who take walk-ins and request an appointment in seconds.

Have you ever noticed popping or cracking when you open your mouth? Do you have frequent headaches or jaw pain? If so, this could be related to widespread jaw joint disorders. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually crack or chip a tooth! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can help you find a dental office in Selmont, AL who accepts United Healthcare.

While very different from one another, one often increases the risk of the other. TMJ disorder develops when the joints connecting the jaw and skull are stressed. This could cause problems when you eat or speak. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, face, and neck. Bruxism means you clench or grind your teeth in your sleep. The pressure of clenching could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also weaken and damage the tooth structure. This damage could lead to cavities, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could mean eventual teeth grinding, and vice-versa. When you have persistent pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Selmont who accepts United Healthcare.

Treatment options often vary; for some, relief is possible following recontouring, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with Invisalign could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dentists is an oral appliance, which fits like a nightguard. If you need to find treatment from a Selmont dentist. then contact our team!

Tooth cavities are common threats to oral health, and without treatment could lead to tender infections or even the increased risk of lost teeth. When you have dental pain that continues for more than a day, then you likely have a tooth decay that needs a tooth filling. If you have tooth pain, and you need to find a dental professional near you who treats patients with United Healthcare, search for dentists in Selmont on Doctors Network.

Cavities form when the outer layer of enamel is weakened. The destruction of the enamel often occurs due to poor oral hygiene habits, such as not brushing and flossing frequently enough. A diet high in starchy foods is another common factor. Once tooth decay forms, it will grow unless treated, and lack of treatment could actually mean worsening pain and an infected tooth. Common warning signs include dental pain. When you have pain in a tooth, don’t procrastinate. Our network can help connect you with a dentist in Selmont for caries risk assessment.

Treating a case of tooth decay often means placing a composite restoration. First, the dentist will remove the bacteria from the tooth. Next, metal or composite resin material is applied to the tooth. The dentist then sculpts the filling as it sets. The entire process only takes one appointment. A restoration helps stop discomfort and protects the smile from complications like abscesses. If you need to find out how much a tooth filling costs with United Healthcare in Selmont, AL, then talk to Doctors Network. You can even sign up for a dental plan and request an online appointment. We can help you find the right dentist for your oral healthcare!

It is paramount for your little ones to visit the dentist on a biannual basis for dental visits and cleanings. By teaching children great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the knowledge to have healthy smiles for many years. If you are looking for a pediatric dental office in Selmont who takes United Healthcare, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your child with dental sealants. These are thin pieces of film that go over their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their back molars and bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of tooth decay by up to 80 percent. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps bolster your children’s enamel. While enamel is one of the most durable substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to decay. This procedure helps mitigate this damage. Using high-fluoride toothpaste can also help. To learn more, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our pediatric dentists in Selmont.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
