Dr. Carbonell, originally from Long Island, New York, relocated to Boca Raton in childhood. After he graduated from St. Andrews High School, Dr. Carbonell enrolled at the University of Florida and majored in Biology and Classical history. He graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Carbonell received his degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. After his graduation from dental school, Dr. Carbonell continued his dental education by attending a residency program at the North Florida - South Georgia VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Carbonell received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and implant dentistry from Nobel Biocare and the Misch Implant Institute.
He also lectures at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in the Department of Prosthodontics as an adjunct professor.
