Dr. John Scalas is a Southern California native with deep ties to the community. He grew up in the area, attending St. Cyprian School and St. John Bosco High School. After earning his undergraduate degree in biology from California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Scalas went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of Southern California. He has been part of the practice since 2004, where he continues to provide exceptional dental care.

Dr. Scalas believes in lifelong learning to ensure the highest standard of care for his patients. He is a graduate and mentor at the renowned Kois Center for Advanced Dental Science and is also a member of the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry. His commitment to education allows him to stay at the forefront of dental innovation, ensuring that his patients benefit from the most advanced techniques in restorative, preventative, and cosmetic dentistry. Interestingly, Dr. Scalas was a patient at this very office during his childhood. This early exposure to the world of dentistry sparked his passion for the field and set him on the path to becoming a dentist himself. Outside of the Office

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Scalas enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, whom he married in 1997, and their four children: Amelia, Sara, Jack, and Julia. As a family, they are active in various sports, including soccer, swim, flag football, and gymnastics. In his free time, Dr. Scalas is an avid golfer, enjoys fantasy football, and loves perfecting his BBQ skills for family and friends.
