At Springfield Dental Care, Nicholas and his team explore options that many patients may not even know exist. This can lead to resolving long-standing dental issues or clarifying that certain treatments suggested by others may not be necessary.

Having worked in environments where patients were treated like numbers, he understands that this approach results in inferior care. He believes that spending more time learning about what matters to each patient significantly enhances their experience.

Education and Experience
Nicholas has been practicing dentistry for around 15 years. Growing up in a dental family, he watched his father passionately care for his patients in Denver, Colorado, and he aspired to provide that same level of service. He chose to settle in Southwest Missouri to make it his home.

He attended Creighton University, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, before beginning his dental education. Nicholas earned his Bachelor’s in Medical Science and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado Health Science Center School of Dentistry in 2006.

After completing dental school, he practiced alongside his father for two years before moving to Springfield in 2008.

Continuing Education and Professional Affiliations
Nicholas understands that dentistry, like all areas of healthcare, is constantly evolving. New research leads to innovative technologies, materials, and methods that enhance diagnostics, treatment, and outcomes.

He is a member of several professional organizations, including:

Beyond the Office
Outside of his practice, Nicholas enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Tara have two active children who keep them busy. Tara, who has worked in various roles in dentistry, now focuses on supporting dental practices remotely.

The Heins love living in the Ozarks, where the community, natural beauty, and recreational opportunities align perfectly with their lifestyle.

In his free time, Nicholas can often be found racing motorcycles, restoring classic bikes, enjoying time at the lake, or traveling with his family for exciting adventures.
