Poor oral health doesn’t just mean more cavities and sore gums. The health of your teeth is directly connected to your full body health, and when your teeth suffer, so does your respiratory system, your cognitive function, and even your cardiovascular system. Yes, an inconsistent oral hygiene routine can lead to diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, heart failure, and more. And, in South Carolina, where biscuits and gravy, sweet tea, and lemon cream pie reign supreme, keeping your teeth and gums healthy is key to living a healthy life. We all love a good seafood boil, but toothaches spoil the fun! Talk to your dentist today about how you can achieve a lifetime of healthy smiles.

We could all go for a dip at Folly Beach from time to time, but for your teeth, frequent contact with water is more than just an enjoyable pastime. Staying hydrated is key for maintaining a healthy smile. Why? Because water helps wash away food particles and bacteria stuck between your teeth, around your gums, and on your tongue. Drinking water can increase saliva production, too, which protects teeth from tooth decay. On top of that, fluoride is one of the most important minerals for keeping your tooth enamel strong and preventing cavities, and it’s found in abundance in our water. So, next time you go for a swim, give your teeth the same experience and drink a cool glass of water.

Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry focused on enhancing the aesthetics and appearance of a person's teeth, gums, and smile. While traditional dentistry mainly concentrates on health and functionality, cosmetic dentistry places a strong focus on improving the visual appeal of the smile. It encompasses a range of elective procedures and treatments aimed at achieving an attractive and confident smile. Typical treatments included in cosmetic dentistry are: Cosmetic Dental Fillings: Tooth-colored (white) fillings made from composite materials to fix cavities while maintaining a natural appearance. Teeth Whitening: The process of lightening stained or discolored teeth to achieve brighter and whiter smiles. Dental Bonding: The application of a tooth-colored resin to repair or improve the aesthetics of teeth affected by chips, cracks, or gaps. Dental Veneers: Thin, custom-made shells of porcelain placed over the front surface of a tooth to improve its appearance, addressing issues like gaps, discolorations, or unevenness. Dental Crowns: Custom-made caps, typically made out of porcelain or ceramic, that cover damaged or discolored teeth, restoring their anatomy, size, and strength while improving their aesthetic appeal. Dental Implants: Surgically implanted titanium artificial tooth roots to support a single or multiple replacement teeth, providing a natural-looking and fully functional solution for missing teeth. Invisalign: A removable and discreet orthodontic treatment using a series of clear aligners to gradually straighten teeth without traditional brackets and wires. Orthodontic Treatments: Procedures like braces or ceramic braces or clear aligners to straighten misaligned or crooked teeth, improving their appearance and functionality. Smile Makeovers: Comprehensive treatment processes combining different cosmetic procedures to achieve a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing new smile. Gum Contouring: Reshaping or re-contouring of the gum line to improve the appearance of the teeth, particularly when there is excessive gum exposure, short clinical crowns, or uneven gum levels. Cosmetic dentistry enables individuals to obtain their desired smile aesthetics, boosting their confidence and often improving their overall self-esteem.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
