Dr. Javier Sanz believes that providing his patients with optimal health care and modern treatments is essential to running his private practice. Dr. Sanz earned a degree in Prosthodontics from the Universidad Internacional of Catalunya. It was there that he realized his passion for Periodontics. After working as a practicing dentist in Barcelona, he decided to move to the United States to attend the University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a residency program and soon went to the Universidad of Catalunya where he became a clinical director of research in periodontics. He completed his PhD in periodontal lasers, ran continuing education courses for dentists and hygienists, and also published more than 20 of his own research papers. During this time, he became a clinical investigator with Phibo, an implant company.

Six years after this, Dr. Sanz moved back to the United States to work as an educator on surgical techniques and dental implantology at the Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2018, Dr. Sanz opened his periodontal specialty office in Georgetown. Today, Dr. Sanz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. This board certification is awarded to less than 50% of periodontics.

Dr. Patel graduated in 2002 with numerous awards for Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Periodontics, as well as top recognition, from Temple University. After graduation Dr. Patel studied at the Misch International Implant Institute, a prestigious Surgical and Restorative Dental Implant residency program, and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, a widely revered Cosmetic and Restorative Dental program. Since graduating, he has continued to attend over 100 hours per year of continuing education courses.

Today, Dr. Patel is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He also has Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Patel was voted “Top Dentist in Delaware for 2012, 2015 and 2016” by Delaware Today magazine.
