He has been working in dentistry since 2013, with previous experience in Valentine and Ainsworth, Nebraska, before relocating to Rapid City.

Juggling long commutes, PB&Js, and family life with three young children, he proudly graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008, achieving high honors.

Dr. Bart Samuelson, a proud South Dakota native, graduated from Philip High School in 1989. He embraced his love for dentistry by attending the University of South Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 1993. After spending seven years as a Dental Hygienist in Rapid City, his desire to enhance his community service and advance his career led him to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. He realized his ambition of becoming a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006, graduating with exceptional academic achievements and numerous honors.

Outside of his dental practice, Dr. Samuelson is an enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, enjoying activities year-round. He loves hunting, boating, snowmobiling, skiing, and even attempts snowboarding, as well as cruising through the breathtaking Black Hills on his motorcycle. A proud member of the Hamsters USA motorcycle club, he enjoys participating in charitable events like Bikers Against Bullies.

While he enjoys his active lifestyle, Dr. Samuelson considers his family to be his greatest accomplishment. He lives in Spearfish, South Dakota, with his wonderful wife, Nicole, their son Ryker, and their triplet children, Joey, JerZee, and Brekken.

Dr. Chad Carpenter and his wife, Allison, relocated to Rapid City in 2005, the same year Carpenter Dental was established. Community engagement has always been a fundamental aspect of Dr. Carpenter’s life. He dedicated ten years to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission Board, including three years as board president. He has also served as president of the Black Hills District Dental Society and was honored as South Dakota’s “Young Dentist of the Year” in 2014.

Committed to continuous learning, Dr. Carpenter invests at least 20 days each year gaining new knowledge of dentistry by continuing education courses nationwide. This ongoing education equips him and his exceptional team to manage complex cases and reconstructive dentistry effectively. When necessary, he collaborates with local dentists in Rapid City to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.

As a father of six, Dr. Carpenter has a special affinity for family dentistry and excels at making dental visits quick and efficient for children. At home, he and Allison share their lives with two dogs and enjoy camping, lake outings, hiking, cooking, reading, music, and volunteering together.

Dr. Carpenter is actively involved in charitable work, contributing his skills at the St. Francis Dental Mission and the Open Wide Foundation in Guatemala. He also supports various organizations, including Post 22, Post 320, WAVI, The Cornerstone Rescue Mission, United Way, Love INC, Club for Boys, Girls INC, and many other worthy causes.
