Dr. Philip B. Conti was born in Everett, Massachusetts, and raised in Malden, where he graduated from Malden High School. He went on to Brandeis University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1957. From 1958 to 1962, Dr. Conti pursued a unique dual education, studying voice at the New England Conservatory of Music while simultaneously earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During this time, he also worked as a biologist in the Cancer Research Department at Tufts Medical Center, conducting steroid screenings on a National Institutes of Health Grant and co-authoring several research papers.

Dr. Conti is deeply committed to the dental profession and has been an active member of various dental organizations. He is a past president of the East Middlesex District Dental Society and has served on the Massachusetts Dental Society, including as Chair of the Liaison Committee of Dental Auxiliaries. Dr. Conti has also been deeply involved in community service. In 1971, he helped found Project Triangle, a vocational rehabilitation program for individuals with disabilities. The program began in a small, abandoned church in Malden with just five clients and one staff member. Dr. Conti served as the first President of the Board of Directors for 15 years and remained on the board for another 20 years. Today, Triangle, Inc. serves over 3,000 individuals annually and has grown to include North and South Shore facilities, 10 community residences, and a budget of approximately $20 million.
