Tennessee holds the tie with Missouri for most neighborly state, being bordered by a total of eight other states. However, its official nickname is the Volunteer State, which volunteer soldiers from Tennessee earned when they fought with exceptional valor in the Battle of New Orleans. Today, being neighborly and helping others is a distinct Tennessee characteristic, along with its myriad of tourist attractions, such as Graceland and the Grand Ole Opry. To help families across the state take better care of themselves, Doctors Network has partnered with dentists across Tennessee to help keep dental health costs easily manageable. Patients who sign up for a direct dental plan through their primary dentists can enjoy savings on every dental treatment they receive, from routine checkups and cleanings to lifelike restorations and more.

Tennessee’s friendly ambience is easily noticeable to tourists in the smiling faces they see everywhere they go. Maintaining those smiles isn’t always easy, especially for the 12% of the population that does not have insurance. With a population of over 6.6 million people coupled with the increasing costs of dental health care, experts in Tennessee have taken an important step in helping to ensure a high standard of dental care for everyone. With a direct dental plan from Doctors Network, your dentist can provide high-end dental care at substantially discounted prices. For example, checkup and cleaning appointments only cost $25 per visit under a direct dental plan, including routine X-rays at no additional cost. Cosmetic treatments like teeth-whitening and Invisalign®, as well as restorations such as tooth fillings, dental crowns, and dental implants, are all discounted significantly, often by up to 90%.

Direct dental plans can help all patients receive the dental care they deserve at more reasonable costs, whether they have insurance coverage or not. Doctors Network is not an insurance company, and a direct dental plan does not interfere with the structures of your insurance plan. To learn more, speak with your dentist about signing up the next time you visit, or you can search the Doctors Network website at www.doctorsnetwork.com to find a dentist near you who offers a direct dental plan.

Dr. Roberson is a fantastic dentist. I’ve had a lot of less-than-stellar experiences with other dentists, but I was referred to Global Dental Center in Memphis, TN. Based on all the great reviews, I decided to give her a chance. The field of dentistry is a science and an art, and I was lucky to find a dentist who was great at both! As soon as I met her, I could tell she was a gifted, intelligent, and self-assured dentist. She actually listens to her patients, takes what they say into consideration, and takes her time to diagnose and pick the best treatment plan. My bite has been misaligned for quite a while, and other dentists told me there was nothing they could do. Dr. Roberson, however, patiently adjusted each crown, and now, I can chew normally! She has a laid-back personality that instantly calms my nerves. Plus, she’s a perfectionist. I’ve had a lot of dental work done in my day, and I guarantee she’s the best dentist I’ve ever met. From the front office staff to the chairside assistant and hygienist to the dentist, everyone at Global Dental Center is skilled and personable. Dr. Roberson’s assistant is also gifted and so fun to be around. My hygienist did a great job with my cleaning. The best part is that they don’t try to push unnecessary services on you, and they have a lot of advanced technology and keep up with best dental practices and techniques. I haven’t been to a dental practice that was this professional in a really long time. They want you to be an active part in caring for your health. I’m so glad someone recommended them to me. It makes going to the dentist an enjoyable experience!

My family and I are fairly new patients of Dr. Dave’s, but every time we’ve come in the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. My daughter had a huge cavity during one of our first visits, but they were able to get her in quickly and treated her very fast. She got to watch a movie during the procedure and she felt very comfortable. Dr. Dave frequently asked how she was doing during the procedure. This is a great dental office in Depot, I highly recommend Dr. Dave's Dental Care and his staff in Memphis.

What is tooth extraction?

a
ache-remover-696

Tooth extraction or tooth removal is classified into two main types: simple extractions and surgical extractions. Understanding the difference between these types can help you prepare for your procedure. 1. Simple Extraction: This method of tooth extraction is performed on a tooth that is fully erupted in the mouth and can be removed with dental forceps with relative ease. After administering a topical anesthetic and then local anesthetic (Novocaine) to numb the area, the dentist or oral surgeon loosens the tooth by luxating it with an instrument called a straight elevator and then removes it with surgical forceps. Simple dental extraction is typically performed without the need to cut the gum, which is called raising a gingival flap in technical terminology, which is the process of making an incision in the gum and then separating the entire thickness of the gum away from the underlying bone, thereby exposing the actual jaw bone under it. This is done usually for teeth that are carious, damaged, or need to be extracted for orthodontic reasons. 2. Surgical Extraction: Surgical tooth extractions are more complex and are considered for teeth that are not easily accessible, such as impacted wisdom teeth (3rd molars) or teeth that have very little clinical crown left of them. Root tips also need to be surgically exposed sometimes. This method involves making the aforementioned incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and the underlying bone. The tooth may be cut into smaller pieces for easy removal. Sometime it is even required to truph the bone surrounding the roots (alveolar bone). Truphing the bone is the process of cutting the alveolar bone around the tooth to loosen the roots further, usually done on roots that are significantly curved or ankylosed (adhered to the bone). Surgical dental extraction is usually performed under local anesthesia, but sedation options are also available usually for wisdom teeth removal or high anxiety patients. Surgical tooth extraction may be needed for impacted teeth that are deeply embedded in the jawbone.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.
