After earning the Dean’s Scholariship, Dr. Sooferi was accepted into UCLA’s School of Dentistry, on of the best dental schools in the country.

As a practicing dentist today, Dr. Sooferi continues to stay updated on current dentistry practices and techniques by attending continuing education courses. He has taken courses in cosmetic dentistry and envisaging orthodontics. He hopes that by continuing to learn and perfect his skills, he can provide beautiful smiles to his patients for years to come.

Dr. Toni Chen is excited to serve the community that has always been her home. Raised in San Marino and Arcadia, she graduated from Arcadia High School before continuing her education at UCLA, where she worked as a dental assistant and contributed to research that was published. During her time at UCLA, she also volunteered with community programs that supported inner-city children in academics, which inspired her love for working with kids.

Dr. Chen went on to pursue her dental education at USC, followed by two years of pediatric specialty training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. After completing her training, she eagerly returned to her hometown to begin private practice.

Outside of the office, Dr. Chen enjoys spending her weekends at the farmer’s market, biking along the Santa Monica Pier, playing tennis, and hiking the scenic trails around Santa Anita. She loves to travel, with recent adventures including white-water rafting with family and friends, as well as trips to Rome, Florence, Paris and Sienna. Despite her love for travel, her greatest joy is returning to work each week, where she looks forward to making a positive impact on her patients’ lives.

Dr. Daniel D. Cheng is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-focused dental care with over 15 years of experience in private practice. His practice, which has built a trusted reputation in the community, was originally established 65 years ago in 1950.

Believing in the importance of continuous learning, Dr. Cheng stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry. After earning dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry/Chemistry and Economics from the University of California, San Diego, he went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He further honed his skills through an additional year of pediatric training and a variety of continuing education courses, including a post-graduate study in Restorative, Advanced Occlusion, and Prosthetic Techniques through the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education. Dr. Cheng is an active participant in the Stuart Gnathology Study Group and the Loma Linda Implant Study Group.

Dr. Cheng is a member of several prestigious dental organizations, including the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, and the Academy of Osseointegration. Previously, he served as Vice-President and board member for the Southern California Academy of General Dentistry and spent time in the USC Faculty Practice.

In addition to his professional work, Dr. Cheng is passionate about giving back to the community. He frequently volunteers his dental services through various medical and dental relief organizations and has participated in numerous mobile dental clinics, including Remote Area Medical, Care Harbor LA, and CDA Cares.

Dr. Ethan Park’s journey to dentistry began in his early years, growing up in South Korea and Argentina, where he became involved in his family’s garment business. From a young age, he learned the value of hard work and dedication. While attending college, Dr. Park and his sister took on the responsibility of running the family business, managing the daily operations while still pursuing his dream of becoming a dentist. He attributes much of his success to the support of his team, who believed in him and helped him balance both responsibilities. Now, Dr. Park is excited to give back to the Temple City community by offering the best that modern dentistry has to offer.

Having studied dentistry in both Argentina and Puerto Rico over the course of more than a decade, Dr. Park is thrilled to bring his expertise to Temple City. He has a passion for the technological aspects of dentistry and enjoys helping patients restore their oral health with advanced dental treatments. It is with great honor that Dr. Kyle S. Low has been chosen by Dr. Jack von Bulow to continue the legacy of Temple City Dental Care. Dr. Low has had the privilege of knowing Dr. von Bulow for three years, first as a mentor and now as a friend.

Dr. Low met Dr. von Bulow in 2019 at an Invisalign CE Course in San Jose, CA. This course was one of the most prestigious advanced Invisalign education programs for general dentists, with attendees selected by their peers and handpicked by the course director. Dr. Low, excited and nervous, found himself seated next to Dr. von Bulow, who was a chapter president and invited him to join his group. Dr. von Bulow’s infectious energy and enthusiasm made a lasting impression on Dr. Low, and the two stayed in contact through WhatsApp, a vital connection during the challenging times of 2020.

Dr. Low’s journey into dentistry was an unconventional one. Initially working in the import/export industry, he realized he wasn’t fulfilled and sought a career in healthcare. The hands-on, problem-solving nature of dentistry and the opportunity to shape his own practice inspired him to make a life-changing decision. Four months after proposing to his wife, Lena, Dr. Low left his job and enrolled in Chapman University’s Post-Baccalaureate program, where he completed the science courses needed to apply to dental school. He then attended UCLA School of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree in 2017. Dr. Low further honed his skills through a one-year residency at UCLA Venice Dental Center, where he was introduced to Invisalign, setting the stage for his path to meet Dr. von Bulow.

Dr. Low is both humbled and honored to carry on Dr. von Bulow’s mission of “Making a world-class difference for others and making dentistry fun.” With years of experience serving the San Gabriel Valley in South Pasadena since 2018, Dr. Low brings not only his professional expertise but also his personal life, including his three children—ages 7, 4, and 7 months—and his devoted partner, Lena, whom he has been with for the past 11 years. Through his work with Dr. von Bulow, Dr. Low has been deeply inspired by his vision for dentistry, his passion for the community, and his dedication to service. Dr. Low shares this same commitment to providing excellent care with empathy, integrity, and a focus on building relationships based on trust and respect.

Dr. Wu earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology with a minor in education from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her dental degree at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry. Today, she is an active member of the Chinese American Dental Association, the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.

At her private practice, Dr. Wu provides general, cosmetic, and family dentistry. She offers numerous services and treatments including bridges, dentures, crowns, and veneers. She is also a certified Invisalign Premier Provider. She strives to provide comprehensive health care with a personal, comforting atmosphere for patients of all ages. Patient satisfaction is her top priority.

Dr. Wu is a volunteer faculty clinical instructor at UCLA. She gives lectures at local schools and organizations in her community, and she was voted “America’s Top Dentist” for multiple years in a row.

Dr. Michel H. Elyson earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge, before going on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UCLA School of Dentistry. He further advanced his expertise through post-doctoral training in both Surgical and Prosthetic Dentistry at the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Elyson also completed an advanced program at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. With over 25 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Elyson has been practicing in Los Angeles since 1995. He founded Smiles LA, where his practice philosophy is centered on a comprehensive, total health approach to dental care. Dr. Elyson strives to provide care grounded in the latest research, all while delivering the highest standard of patient service. Dr. Elyson has served as a clinical instructor at UCLA School of Dentistry, where he has shared his expertise with future dental professionals. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) and an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Los Angeles Dental Society.

Dr. Steven Chen, known as Dr. Steven by his patients, was born in Taiwan and moved to Los Angeles at a young age. Inspired by his father, a prosthodontist in Taipei, he is thrilled to bring the skills and knowledge he has acquired throughout his career into his own practice. Dr. Steven is committed to continuous learning, dedicating significant time each year to further enhance his clinical expertise. He takes pride in his conservative approach to dentistry, focusing on proper maintenance and prevention of oral disease. He values the daily interactions with his patients and finds fulfillment in helping them achieve their oral health goals. After spending time on the East Coast, Dr. Steven returned to Southern California to offer exceptional dental care in the East Los Angeles area. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, exploring new food spots, staying active at the gym, and enjoying the sunny weather Los Angeles is known for. Dr. Mimi Tran is a dedicated and skilled dentist who earned her degree from Touro College of Dental Medicine in New York. She further refined her clinical expertise by completing an extensive General Practice Residency at OHSU Hospital in Oregon. With a commitment to providing exceptional dental care, Dr. Tran focuses on delivering personalized treatments to her patients, ensuring both their comfort and well-being. Passionate about staying current with the latest developments in dentistry, she strives to offer the best possible care in every aspect of her practice.

Dr. Joowon Yoon is a passionate and dedicated dentist who believes in starting each day with an Iced Americano – because sometimes, saving a tooth requires a little caffeine first. Dr. Yoon earned her degree from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where she developed a deep commitment to providing comprehensive dental care. At Space Dental, Dr. Yoon offers a wide range of services, but she is particularly renowned for her expertise in full mouth reconstructions, wisdom teeth extractions, implant surgery, and root canal retreatment. She is deeply committed to staying at the forefront of dental advancements, regularly attending continuing education courses to keep her skills and knowledge up-to-date. Dr. Jelani Winslow has always had a passion for creating and building. Upon discovering dentistry, he found a unique opportunity to combine his scientific knowledge with his artistic talents. His interest in the field blossomed during his time volunteering at dental offices while attending the University of California, Berkeley, which ultimately guided him to Temple University in Philadelphia for dental school. After earning his dental degree, Dr. Winslow returned to the West Coast to complete a General Practice Residency at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, CA. He then spent over a decade working at the East Valley Community Health Center in West Covina, CA, where he provided essential care to underserved communities. Despite the fulfillment he found in this role, he harbored a long-time aspiration to open his own practice. In August 2019, Dr. Winslow realized that dream when he acquired Whittier Palm Dental in Montebello. When he’s not treating patients in Montebello, Whittier, or Pico Rivera, Dr. Winslow enjoys traveling, running 5K and 10K races, experimenting with electronic projects and 3D printing, and giving back to the community through volunteer work and sharing his dental expertise.

Dr. Javier Garcia graduated with a dental degree from Universidad Autonoma in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1984, and obtained his California Dental Board license in 1993. He is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the the Hispanic Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Punjabi Dental Society. Recognized as a RealSelf expert in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Garcia is passionate about empowering his patients with the information they need to make confident, informed choices regarding their oral health and cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Burton Schnierow, DDS, has been serving the dental community for an impressive 58 years at Schnierow Dental. He began his dental journey at age 16, working in a dental lab, before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (USC). He then went on to graduate from USC School of Dentistry in 1962 at the age of 25. Afterward, Dr. Schnierow further honed his skills while serving in the Army, where he gained invaluable experience. In 1964, Dr. Schnierow opened his own practice in Hawthorne, where he has had the privilege of treating multiple generations of families—many of whom now bring in their grandchildren for care. Over the years, he has been blessed with a devoted and talented staff, whom he considers part of his extended dental family. The practice’s motto, “Our family, treating your family,” reflects the close-knit, caring environment Dr. Schnierow has cultivated. Dr. Schnierow attributes his long-standing success to his approach of truly listening to his patients, providing exceptional dental care in a gentle manner, and offering treatment options that are both effective and affordable.
