He then went on to earn his dental degree from the University at Buffalo in 2001. During his time in dental school, Dr. Chung excelled in both academics and hands-on experience, completing research projects and internships in oral surgery at Buffalo General Hospital and Erie Community Medical Center, as well as pediatric dentistry at Buffalo Women and Children’s Hospital.

Following graduation, Dr. Chung completed a residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, where he treated medically complex patients and provided emergency dental care in the hospital's emergency room.
