Virginia isn’t just one of the 13 original colonies; it is home to the first English settlement in the New World, Jamestown. Not long after, Virginia also saw the end of the American Revolution with the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. With its close proximity to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., more Virginians today work for the government than any other industry, equaling about a quarter of the state’s population. Nevertheless, out of the state’s 8.4 million residents, over 10% do not have insurance, which can make keeping up with routine dental care difficult and expensive. That’s why Doctors Network has teamed up with dentists across the Old Dominion State to provide patients with more affordable direct dental plans. Whether you have insurance or not, a direct dental plan guarantees that you can receive the high-quality of care you deserve while paying significantly reduced prices.

Virginia has seen a lot of firsts, from the first colony to the first Thanksgiving, and more. Now, residents of Virginia can be among the first to change the way they pay for their ongoing dental health care. The direct dental plan that your dentist offers through Doctors Network is not insurance, but rather a membership that grants you access to unprecedented discounts on all dental treatments. For instance, checkups and cleanings are only $25 per visit under the plan, and treatments such as fillings, crowns, Invisalign®, dental implants, and more are discounted significantly, often by up to 90%. Also unlike insurance, there are no premiums or deductibles to worry about; simply pay a low monthly fee, which is set by your dentist, and every treatment you receive will be discounted according to the Doctors Network fee schedule.

I was out to lunch with some friends of mine when I had a dental emergency happen to me. My on my front tooth came off. Mind you I do not have dental insurance in Manassas, so I was completely devastated. I ended up searching online for affordable dental plans and found Dr. Mendes partnered with Doctors Network. I was able to get an appointment the same day and have my crown re-cemented. Everyone was very coordinated in Dr. Mendes's dental office. I made my whole procedure run very smoothly. My main concern was to fix my crown but the receptionist did a great job explaining to me how the plan works and how actually it is to my benefit to use is long term. You should not go to the dentist only when an emergency happens. You should keep following up and create a routine to maintain good oral care as explained to me by Dr. Mendes.

My Granddaughter needs a lot of dental work. Her teeth are actually rotting away. She is 23 and has no insurance. But she could possibly pay out of pocket like a payment plan. She is getting married in April and she needs something done soon.

What is dental cleaning?

If you take good care of your teeth, you may be wondering why your dentist says you need this appointment every 6 months. There are several dental problems that you may miss at an early stage. They may not cause any pain, and may not demonstrate any visible signs. However, a dental prophylaxis appointment (teeth cleaning visit) can help your dentist diagnose these dental problems at an early stage. The term dental cleaning (prophylaxis) encompasses several techniques that are used by most dental personnel to professionally remove plaque, stain, and calculus (tartar) from patients’ teeth. Oftentimes, the toothbrush coronal polish (i.e. toothbrush and toothpaste) is a procedure that is used to remove plaque from teeth surfaces and demonstrate brushing techniques to caregivers for young kids and for patients with special needs who cannot tolerate using a rubber cup. The rubber cup coronal polish is a treatment in which a dental polishing paste is rubbed onto tooth surfaces with a rotary bristle brush or rotary rubber cup to remove plaque and stains from your teeth. Dental scaling is a procedure where hand or ultrasonic instruments are used to remove calculus or tartar and stains. Full mouth debridement may be needed as a preliminary treatment for those patients whose medical, psychological, physical, or periodontal conditions result in calculus accumulation beyond the scope of routine prophylaxis (regular teeth cleanings). These procedures expedite the clinical examination and introduce dental services to the patient. Also, the accompanying preventive appointment demonstrates proper oral hygiene techniques to the patient and/or caregivers. Flossing is an essential part of the prophylaxis that removes interproximal and subgingival (under the gum) plaque, aiding in educating the patient and enhancing the oral examination.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
