view full bioDr. Robert P. Obregon was born in Sacramento, California, on May 6th, 1959, to Gonzalo Obregon, M.D., and Nadine Zoe Obregon. Growing up with his three siblings, Dr. Obregon was deeply influenced by his parents, whom he considers his true heroes. Their support provided him with a blessed upbringing and instilled in him strong values. He graduated from Jesuit High School, Menlo College, and the University of California, Davis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.
At the suggestion of his father, Dr. Obregon considered dentistry as a career, and quickly recognized that it combined his passion for science with his desire to connect with and help people. In 1983, he and his wife, Theresa, along with their nine-month-old daughter, Michelle, relocated to Los Angeles to begin his dental journey. Dr. Obregon graduated in the top 5% of his class from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry in 1987.
After graduation, Dr. Obregon and his family returned to Sacramento to be closer to relatives, where they welcomed two more children, son Matthew and daughter Rebecca. By God's grace, Dr. Obregon was fortunate to work for and eventually purchase the dental practice of his dear friend, Dr. Elmar Hoffmann. Dr. Hoffmann had established a well-regarded and thriving practice, and Dr. Obregon has worked tirelessly to build upon that foundation.
With over 30 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Obregon remains as passionate and enthusiastic about his profession as ever. At his practice, Robert P. Obregon, D.D.S., Inc., he upholds several core values:
• Creating a practice environment that radiates care and kindness.
• Helping patients fully understand their dental health and available treatment options.
• Delivering skillful and compassionate dental care.
Dr. Obregon’s practice is known for its distinctive lighthouse theme, which many patients inquire about. To Dr. Obregon, the lighthouse symbolizes Christ—a guiding light that provides direction and a welcoming harbor for those in need. It reflects the values he holds dear: to be a beacon of hope and support for his patients.
Dr. Obregon and his team strive to be a small lighthouse in the lives of their patients, whether providing routine cleanings or advanced procedures such as implants.
