It has been said that if you stretched Wisconsin’s 7,446 miles of streams and rivers end to end, they could circle the globe at the equator. In addition, the state also boasts five state parks and over 250 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan. Wisconsin’s impressive natural beauty is just one of the state’s many wonders, and only one reason why residents and tourists alike love the Badger State. Now, families have even more reason to love Wisconsin with direct dental plans from Doctors Network. Offered directly through dentists’ offices in Wisconsin, direct dental plans can help the state’s over 5.7 million residents save on all of their dental health care costs. Because the plan works separately from insurance, patients are eligible to join whether or not they already have existing coverage.

With less than 6.6% of people in Wisconsin uncovered by insurance, Wisconsin’s uninsured population is lower than most other states. Yet, even with insurance, many patients are surprised to learn that their coverage doesn’t adequately cover many of the treatments they need or want. Some plans leave people with high out-of-pocket expenses that they cannot afford, rendering the insurance plan useless. With Doctors Network, there are no surprises. The plan covers every treatment that your dentist offers, and follows a predetermined fee schedule that does not change without notice. Regular checkup and cleaning appointments are only $25 per visit, including X-rays, while other treatments (such as fillings, root canal therapy, dental crowns, implants, and more) will always be discounted, sometimes by up to 90%. Everyone can qualify for a direct dental plan regardless of age or the state of their current dental health.

I’ve been Dr. Pusateri’s patient for a few years now. I’m not originally from Palatine, IL, but I moved here a couple of years ago. Dr. Pusateri and his staff consistently provide the best service and dental expertise I’ve ever experienced. From the receptionists to cleanings to billing to checking out, everyone I’ve bumped into has been so kind. Dr. Pusateri always gives me his undivided attention and answers all my questions, which is a breath of fresh air because most doctors try to rush you out the door. At Mark D Pusateri DDS, however, they focus on the quality of patient care, not the quantity of patients. Parking is also pretty convenient, and their office is easy to find. Thank you Dr. Pusateri and staff - I wish you all the best!

After throwing away my time and money with other dentists in Highland Park, IL (including a cosmetic and TMJ specialist), I decided to check out Jeffrey E Riesberg DDS. I was very impressed! Dr. Riesberg and his incredible staff were so sweet, considerate, and didn’t judge me. They were very fast and productive and worked hard to get my teeth back in great shape. I can definitely tell a big difference - highly recommended!

I went in for my first cleaning with Dr. Amante today, and I can’t wait to come back! This place is awesome. I brought my 2 year old daughter in to introduce her to the dentist and get her ready for her first visit. My daughter is shy and doesn’t really like meeting new people, but Dr. Amante was gentle with her and got her relaxed enough that he even got a quick examination in. I’m very happy with this dentist office near me, and so was my daughter.

I hate the dentist so much that I didn’t go for two years even though I was paying for insurance. The noises are like nails on a chalkboard, but I had the nicest hygienist ever! She cared when I told her I was anxious, and she asked me if I had any tooth sensitivity. When I told her yes and showed her where she kept putting a numbing agent on my bottom teeth to ensure I felt no pain. (My friend said her dentist charged extra for that!) She and I chatted like friends, and she was actually interested in me as a person, not just another patient. She was so great, and I hope I get her every time now! Then my dentist, Dr. Raghian, came in to look at me. He was really nice and told me about a few problem areas and things to watch for. I picked Winnetka Dental Care in Winnetka, IL-based on all the good reviews on Doctors Network, and I’m so glad I did!

Can scaling and root planing help me reverse gum disease?

b
brush-whisperer-151

In many cases, gingivitis can be reversed with scaling and root planing (known as deep cleaning) and a strict routine of good hygiene and preventative dental care. However, if the condition progresses into periodontitis, then it might no longer be reversible, and will have to be controlled through regular periodontal maintenance.

What is scaling/root planing (Deep Cleaning)?

f
fluoride-achiever-2

Gingivitis marks the beginning of periodontal disease, and describes inflammation in the gums caused by excessive oral bacteria buildup (in the form of plaque and tartar). Because gingivitis occurs underneath the gums, routine dental cleaning won’t suffice to treat it. Scaling and root planing, also known as deep cleaning, involves removing plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. Then, your periodontist will smooth the roots of your teeth underneath the gums to discourage further oral bacteria buildup. As plaque and tartar accumulate on the roots, the buildup and resulting inflammation cause your gum tissues to recede slightly from your teeth. This creates deepening periodontal pockets where oral bacteria can continue to gather and multiply, worsening the infection and inflammation. Periodontal cleaning helps stop the infection by removing the films of plaque and tartar from your roots (scaling), and then smoothing their surfaces (planing) to inhibit bacterial buildup as your gums heal. In cases where gum disease has already developed, scaling and root planing should be followed by a strict schedule of checkups, cleanings, and periodontal maintenance. Your periodontist can prescribe appropriate treatment options, such as gingival grafting or pocket reduction surgery, to fortify your compromised tissues so you can recover from gum disease.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
