It has been said that if you stretched Wisconsin’s 7,446 miles of streams and rivers end to end, they could circle the globe at the equator. In addition, the state also boasts five state parks and over 250 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan. Wisconsin’s impressive natural beauty is just one of the state’s many wonders, and only one reason why residents and tourists alike love the Badger State. Now, families have even more reason to love Wisconsin with direct dental plans from Doctors Network. Offered directly through dentists’ offices in Wisconsin, direct dental plans can help the state’s over 5.7 million residents save on all of their dental health care costs. Because the plan works separately from insurance, patients are eligible to join whether or not they already have existing coverage.

With less than 6.6% of people in Wisconsin uncovered by insurance, Wisconsin’s uninsured population is lower than most other states. Yet, even with insurance, many patients are surprised to learn that their coverage doesn’t adequately cover many of the treatments they need or want. Some plans leave people with high out-of-pocket expenses that they cannot afford, rendering the insurance plan useless. With Doctors Network, there are no surprises. The plan covers every treatment that your dentist offers, and follows a predetermined fee schedule that does not change without notice. Regular checkup and cleaning appointments are only $25 per visit, including X-rays, while other treatments (such as fillings, root canal therapy, dental crowns, implants, and more) will always be discounted, sometimes by up to 90%. Everyone can qualify for a direct dental plan regardless of age or the state of their current dental health.

Bright Dental is amazing. I have visited Dr. Rehman a few times now and all I have to say are good things. The staff is kind and outgoing, very helpful. The practice itself is kept clean and comfortable, very modern in design. All the little things here make for a pleasant experience, which is more than I expected to find around Milwaukee!

I’m very picky when it comes to my dental care, and I’m always leery about going to a new dental provider. But ever since switching to Jeffrey E Riesberg DDS in Highland Park, IL, I never want to go anywhere else. From the front office staff who greets you with a smile to the hygienist to Dr. Riesberg, I’m so amazed by the whole dental team! Everyone’s so friendly, and they have cutting-edge technology that makes any dental procedure (routine or complex) so much easier. If you have a dental emergency, just give them a call because they’re so helpful! They even help you figure out how to pay for your dental care; they understand that even though it’s necessary, it can be expensive. They’re also great if you’re scared or sensitive to dental work, and they’re excellent with kids! Plus, they enjoy giving back to the community. It’s like one big family, and once you’re a patient, you’re family too! Amazing people, fantastic business model, and outstanding dental treatment - if every doctor or dentist treated their patients like Dr. Riesberg does, it would make these experiences so much better all around!

The staff at Mark D Pusateri DDS are so welcoming and instantly put your mind at ease. They’re pretty quick, too. I used to hate going to the dentist, but I’m so glad I found this hidden gem in Palatine, IL! I love their hygienist. She’s the most careful, thorough hygienist I’ve ever had work on my mouth. Thank you! Dr. Pusateri is very genuine and truly cares about every patient on a personal level! The environment is homey and clean. Parking can be challenging, but that doesn’t stop me from going. My friend actually drops me off/picks me up, and then we go out to eat afterwards!

Can scaling and root planing help me reverse gum disease?

b
brush-whisperer-151

In many cases, gingivitis can be reversed with scaling and root planing (known as deep cleaning) and a strict routine of good hygiene and preventative dental care. However, if the condition progresses into periodontitis, then it might no longer be reversible, and will have to be controlled through regular periodontal maintenance.

What is scaling/root planing (Deep Cleaning)?

f
fluoride-achiever-2

Gingivitis marks the beginning of periodontal disease, and describes inflammation in the gums caused by excessive oral bacteria buildup (in the form of plaque and tartar). Because gingivitis occurs underneath the gums, routine dental cleaning won’t suffice to treat it. Scaling and root planing, also known as deep cleaning, involves removing plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. Then, your periodontist will smooth the roots of your teeth underneath the gums to discourage further oral bacteria buildup. As plaque and tartar accumulate on the roots, the buildup and resulting inflammation cause your gum tissues to recede slightly from your teeth. This creates deepening periodontal pockets where oral bacteria can continue to gather and multiply, worsening the infection and inflammation. Periodontal cleaning helps stop the infection by removing the films of plaque and tartar from your roots (scaling), and then smoothing their surfaces (planing) to inhibit bacterial buildup as your gums heal. In cases where gum disease has already developed, scaling and root planing should be followed by a strict schedule of checkups, cleanings, and periodontal maintenance. Your periodontist can prescribe appropriate treatment options, such as gingival grafting or pocket reduction surgery, to fortify your compromised tissues so you can recover from gum disease.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
