Dr. Weisman was born in Philadelphia, but due to his father’s military career, he moved frequently throughout his childhood. As one of four siblings, his family’s adventures made for a lively upbringing, and their annual reunions remain a cherished tradition. After living on military bases in Virginia and Germany, the family eventually settled in South Carolina before moving to Chicago.

Dr. Weisman attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1983, where he earned a degree in Biology while also competing on the university's Big 10 Fencing team. He continued his education at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago, graduating in 1987. Following dental school, Dr. Weisman completed his residency at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco, where he was honored to serve as chief resident in his second year.
