We live 30 minutes away from Milwaukee with no traffic, yet I guarantee we would drive 12 hours with traffic just to visit Bright Dental! I for one cherish Dr. Rehman. He is so delicate with my teeth, and is truly amiable. My gums are overly touchy. I cherish all the staff also. They are extremely understanding and understand that sometimes life happens. My basement overflowed so I missed my appt. And after 3 weeks when I came in, they were so sweet and asked how things were going with said basement. How marvelous to have such a fantastic group of individuals. I love Dr. Rehman, he is exhaustive and friendly also. He doesn't waste any of my time with babble and I value that! My poor husband wouldn't go to the dental specialist for around 8 years since he was so afraid of dentists screwing up his teeth. At any rate, I called and scheduled him an appointment and he went. His cleaning and follow up appointments went very well! So all that I can say is that if Dr. Rehman can get my significant other to get his teeth cleaned and cared for, they can essentially manage anybody! Speaking for both of us, we loooooove Bright Dental!

I can’t even express how fantastic Dr. Riseberg and his competent staff are! It took me so long to find a dentist that I could trust with my horrible teeth, so I was very relieved when I found Jeffrey E Riesberg DDS! Dr. Riesberg did an extraction for me with barely any pain, and after one over-the-counter pain pill, I was good as new. The staff is so friendly and never rushes your appointments, and they always make you feel like the most important patient when you’re there. That’s so unusual to see in today’s medical services! The environment is soothing and laid back, and the receptionist does all the medical billing correctly and quickly. I was way overdue for a dentist appointment, and my coworker recommended Mark D Pusateri DDS in Palatine, IL. I love that they could accommodate my schedule and set up two different appointments for my exam/x-rays and cleaning. That way, I didn’t need to take an extended lunch break for work. I didn’t have to wait to be seen, and since I didn’t have dental insurance, they had a few deals to help me out. Dr. Pusateri is so sweet and actually listened to my worries. My hygienist was just as kind and careful during the cleaning. My gums didn’t hurt at all after it was over. All in all, I had a great experience and can’t wait to come back!

I thought I had a gum infection (I cut myself on a popcorn kernel), so I called Winnetka Dental Care. They squeezed me in that day even though I was a new patient. Dr. Raghian found a splinter in my gums that had been there a while and that was causing the pain and irritation. When he took it out, I instantly felt so much better. They didn’t make me wait long in the waiting room, and as soon as I filled out my new patient paperwork, they sat me in the dentist chair. I’m pretty confident I just discovered my family’s new dentist in Winnetka, IL!

I went in for my first cleaning with Dr. Amante today, and I can’t wait to come back! This place is awesome. I brought my 2 year old daughter in to introduce her to the dentist and get her ready for her first visit. My daughter is shy and doesn’t really like meeting new people, but Dr. Amante was gentle with her and got her relaxed enough that he even got a quick examination in. I’m very happy with this dentist office near me, and so was my daughter.

Tooth extraction or tooth removal is classified into two main types: simple extractions and surgical extractions. Understanding the difference between these types can help you prepare for your procedure. 1. Simple Extraction: This method of tooth extraction is performed on a tooth that is fully erupted in the mouth and can be removed with dental forceps with relative ease. After administering a topical anesthetic and then local anesthetic (Novocaine) to numb the area, the dentist or oral surgeon loosens the tooth by luxating it with an instrument called a straight elevator and then removes it with surgical forceps. Simple dental extraction is typically performed without the need to cut the gum, which is called raising a gingival flap in technical terminology, which is the process of making an incision in the gum and then separating the entire thickness of the gum away from the underlying bone, thereby exposing the actual jaw bone under it. This is done usually for teeth that are carious, damaged, or need to be extracted for orthodontic reasons. 2. Surgical Extraction: Surgical tooth extractions are more complex and are considered for teeth that are not easily accessible, such as impacted wisdom teeth (3rd molars) or teeth that have very little clinical crown left of them. Root tips also need to be surgically exposed sometimes. This method involves making the aforementioned incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and the underlying bone. The tooth may be cut into smaller pieces for easy removal. Sometime it is even required to truph the bone surrounding the roots (alveolar bone). Truphing the bone is the process of cutting the alveolar bone around the tooth to loosen the roots further, usually done on roots that are significantly curved or ankylosed (adhered to the bone). Surgical dental extraction is usually performed under local anesthesia, but sedation options are also available usually for wisdom teeth removal or high anxiety patients. Surgical tooth extraction may be needed for impacted teeth that are deeply embedded in the jawbone.
