We could all go for a dip at Folly Beach from time to time, but for your teeth, frequent contact with water is more than just an enjoyable pastime. Staying hydrated is key for maintaining a healthy smile. Why? Because water helps wash away food particles and bacteria stuck between your teeth, around your gums, and on your tongue. Drinking water can increase saliva production, too, which protects teeth from tooth decay. On top of that, fluoride is one of the most important minerals for keeping your tooth enamel strong and preventing cavities, and it’s found in abundance in our water. So, next time you go for a swim, give your teeth the same experience and drink a cool glass of water.

Over two decades later, he has established himself in downtown Charleston with a thriving dental practice, a wonderful wife named Mandy, and three amazing children: Isabel, Avery, and Weston.

It was during his time at the College of Charleston that Dr. Myers realized dentistry was the perfect blend of his passions and talents. He graduated cum laude and continued on to the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, the following year. After graduating, Dr. Myers began his career in a large dental practice in Charlotte, NC, but he eagerly returned to the Lowcountry when an opportunity arose. He spent five years in Summerville before acquiring his current practice in historic downtown Charleston. Cannon Park Dental, nestled conveniently between his two alma maters, reflects his vision of personalized patient care and offers a distinctive ‘boutique dental’ experience.

Dr. Myers is passionate about the growing connection between oral health and overall wellness. He emphasizes that poor dental care can lead to serious health issues, including preventable conditions that may shorten lives. While achieving that perfect smile is important, today’s dentistry also highlights the significant impact an unhealthy mouth can have on the entire body. He encourages everyone to see an oral healthcare provider twice a year, as it could truly make a difference in their health.

Above all, Dr. Myers cherishes his role as a husband and father. He considers parenting his greatest joy and strives to create a family-oriented atmosphere at Cannon Park Dental. Patients who visit Dr. Myers and his dedicated team quickly feel like part of the family, finding a warm and welcoming home in their dental care experience.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.
