If I could give this place 20 stars I would. I chipped my tooth by biting down on something hard. They were able to fit me in that day, despite not having any appointments open. I’m very thankful to the receptionist who I cried over the phone to. Dr. Morrison saw me during his lunch break, which is incredible, no other dentist in Richmond, VA I know has that sort of dental service! Dr. Morrison was very nice, caring, and easy to talk to. My tooth looks even better than it did before I chipped it now that Dr. Morrison fixed it. This place left such a great impression on me that I am feeling and looking better than ever. I plan on going back every to this dentistry every year!

I’ve been looking for a new dentist for a loooong time, and I finally found him: Dr. Morrison! The entire staff from the front office to the exam room made the experience one to remember. Check in was quick and easy with only a few forms to complete, and they got me back within 15 minutes. The exam room was spotless, organized, and cozy. The hygienists did a good job with my cleaning and kept making sure I was doing alright. Dr. Morrison was very empathetic when I told him that I hadn’t seen a dentist in a long time because I lost my medical and dental coverage. He told me not to worry and said he was proud that I came in. He never harped on me about my dental problems and reassured me by saying that it wasn’t as bad as it could be and that a few simple procedures could fix everything. The fluoride treatment was nice, and booking an appointment and paying for any extra costs was a breeze. I’m going to take my kids to Family Dentistry in Richmond very soon, too!

When you have a toothache, or a tooth that is damaged, you need treatment. Otherwise, the tooth could develop a decay and infections. Soon, there is a risk of not only a lost tooth, but a spread of infection to other areas of the jaw. But sometimes, the damage or cavity is beyond the stage to be treated with a tooth filling or a root canal. Instead, the tooth could require an extraction. At Doctors Network, our team can help you connect with a knowledgeable dentist in Richmond, VA who can provide a effective tooth extraction as needed.

As we touched on above, severe cavities or injury could be why a tooth needs extraction. But a dentist could also remove one that is loosened by periodontitis. Extracting a tooth could restore overall balance and chewing function. Extraction could also provide room for treatment with braces! In many cases, this could prevent wisdom tooth impaction. Removing wisdom teeth prior to eruption helps preserve the balance and overall esthetics. For people with advanced tooth loss, removing the last few teeth essentially paves the way for a full prosthetic. Your Richmond general dentist could use this to improve the health, function, and surprisingly, sometimes the appearance of your smile.

Now that you understand when a tooth may require removal, how do you seek care for one? Well, as mentioned above Doctors Network can locate a dentist in the Richmond, VA area. But if you don’t have a dental plan, you may worry about the cost. Fortunately, we have a payment plan! Our dental membership plan is opened with an initial fee and maintained with a small fee each month. For some, this could cut the cost of care by up to 90 percent!

Tooth loss could lead to major issues for your smile. For example, this could impact how easily you eat your favorite foods, or how clearly you can articulate. But the most severe complication is the loss of mass and density in the jaw. The body reduces the flow of calcium and phosphate to the areas without teeth, which in turn causes bone loss and an aged appearance and weakens the structure significantly. Which means you may not be able to receive dental implants to address gaps in your smile. But Doctors Network can connect you with a dentist in Richmond, VA who can shore up your jaw.

As discussed in previous posts, a bone grafting procedure helps strengthen the lower jaw, so it can support dental implants. But what about the the upper area? Instead of adding new tissue, your Richmond dentist could perform a sinus lift. Essentially, the dentist will push up the sinus floor to induce the formation of new bone structure. The new structure can support one or more implants. Once the new teeth are secured, this stimulates the growth of bone tissue to prevent further breakdowns. Your new teeth then last for decades to come, possibly even a lifetime.

If you need to strengthen your weakened upper jawbone to support a new smile, we could help. Our team can connect you with a Richmond, VA oral surgeon who can address tooth loss and takes patients without dental insurance. When your smile is strengthened and ready, dental implants could provide a full smile again. If you don’t have insurance, don’t let this stand between you and optimal oral health. Instead, talk to our team about our monthly membership plan. With our Direct Dental Plan, you can have treatments discounted by as much as 90% in some situations. A full smile is in your future!

You probably know a lot of people who have had their wisdom teeth pulled and are eager to describe their experiences to you. While this can be helpful, it is still essential to consult with a oral surgeon. If you need these teeth removed, it is important to have lots of information at your disposal. This will help you understand what to expect from wisdom teeth extraction and what you should expect from the dentist. Luckily, Doctors Network can help you connect with a great dentist near you in Richmond, VA that accepts self-pay patients.

Wisdom teeth are in the back of the mouth, and there are two on the top and two on the bottom. They usually appear between seventeen and twenty-five. Because they are the last teeth to erupt, their appearance can cause issues with your existing ones. They can erupt at odd directions, only partially erupt, or overcrowd your current teeth. When this happens, they are likely to succumb to harmful bacteria. If any of these conditions take place, it can be very uncomfortable and can affect your teeth. If you think you might have issues with wisdom teeth, it is important to see a Richmond dentist hastily.

If you need wisdom tooth removal, your doctor will determine how they will go about the extraction to ensure everything goes smoothly. They will decide which of your wisdom teeth need to be removed and how complex it will be. They will also determine the appropriate type of anesthesia and the position of your existing teeth. Once they ascertain these details, they can plan your wisdom teeth extraction more easily. When you come in for the procedure, you will receive the appropriate sedation, so you will not experience any pain. Your dentist will extract your teeth and monitor you the entire time to make sure you are doing well. Once your wisdom teeth are removed, you will receive information about the recovery period. Fortunately, there are many Richmond dentists that accept self-pay patients and can effectively remove your wisdom teeth.

Have you experienced a popping sensation in your jaw? Do you have aching jaw and facial pain? If so, this could be related to two common jaw joint issues. Around twenty-five million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually wear down outer tooth structure! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can help you find a dentist in Richmond, VA who accepts patients without dental insurance.

While very different from one another, we often find these are related. TMJ disorder develops when the the temporomandibular joints become strained. This could cause problems with jaw function. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, and neck. Bruxism means you suffer from nightly teeth grinding. The pressure of clenching could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also weaken and damage the tooth structure. This damage could lead to cavities, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could lead to bruxism, and vice-versa. When you have chronic pain in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Richmond who accepts patients without dental insurance.

There are, however, multiple treatment options available; for some, relief is possible following dental bonding, which improves bite balance. For others, treating malocclusion with Invisalign could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dentists is a custom splint, which fits like a night-guard. If you need to find treatment from a Richmond dentist. then contact our team!

Do you have a crackled or chipped tooth that needs treatment? If so, the placement of a dental crown could treat your concerns. The restoration is custom-made for your dentition and can return beauty, function, and health to your smile. Our team can help connect you to a Richmond, VA dentist who can restore your smile, and also who will accept your insurance. Do not risk an abscessed tooth!

One of the first signs of trouble could be an aching tooth. This could be due to the presence of tooth decay. As tooth sensitivity worsens, you could risk worsening infection or even tooth loss. An injury that breaks a tooth could also lead to complications like infection with time. In these situations, restorative treatment is usually necessary. If the tooth defect is too severe for a filling, then you may need crown placement.

The crown is a durable restoration. Once placed, this will cover everything above the gum line. They could be made from very strong, biocompatible materials like metal alloys. However, lots of cosmetic dentists in the Richmond, VA area offer more natural options entirely made from ceramic. The total placement process takes one to two visits on average. The dental crown, whether we use a metal or more lifelike options, will be created specifically for your tooth. The custom nature of this dental prosthetic provides a balanced occlusion, protecting your smile from the development of TMD. If you have teeth that need restoration then talk to Doctors Network. We can help you find the dental offices that meet your needs and take your insurance.

Virginia isn’t just one of the 13 original colonies; it is home to the first English settlement in the New World, Jamestown. Not long after, Virginia also saw the end of the American Revolution with the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. With its close proximity to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., more Virginians today work for the government than any other industry, equaling about a quarter of the state’s population. Nevertheless, out of the state’s 8.4 million residents, over 10% do not have insurance, which can make keeping up with routine dental care difficult and expensive. That’s why Doctors Network has teamed up with dentists across the Old Dominion State to provide patients with more affordable direct dental plans. Whether you have insurance or not, a direct dental plan guarantees that you can receive the high-quality of care you deserve while paying significantly reduced prices.
