Doctors Network

From 1836 to 1845, Texas was its own independent nation, and it is the only state to have joined the U.S. through treaty rather than territorial annexation. Today, it is home to nearly 28 million people, making it the second most populous state (next to California) as well as the second largest (next to Alaska). Known as the Lone Star State, Texas’ independence and spirit has persevered throughout its history, and today’s Texans continue to do things their way. When it comes to dental health care, that means offering families across the state highly affordable alternatives to dental insurance through direct plans. Provided by your dentist in partnership with Doctors Network, a direct dental plan guarantees significant savings on all treatments that your dentist and oral health specialists provide, and it works whether or not you already have insurance coverage.

Texans like to tackle things head on, which happens to be the best way to take care of your dental health. Being proactive with regular checkups and cleanings helps prevent dental issues from developing or growing worse. However, over 19% of people in Texas do not have insurance, which can make paying for routine dental care sometimes difficult. The good news is that Doctors Network helps families across Texas remain as proactive as possible by keeping the costs of dental health care low. Checkups and cleanings are only $25 per visit under the network’s direct dental plan. Also, the costs for treatments such as teeth-whitening, Invisalign®, tooth-colored fillings, porcelain crowns, dental implants, and more are all drastically reduced by up to 90%.

No one really likes going to the dentist...at least, I don’t! However, I had a pretty great experience at Heritage Dental in Katy, TX with my cleaning and three fillings. The services were reasonably priced, painless, and productive. From the front desk receptionist to Dr. Nguyen, everyone is so nice. Dr. Nguyen is very cooperative, and I felt no pain. I love Heritage Dental!

This Katy dentist office did a tooth extraction for me. The staff and office are all very nice. Dr. Kuti’s top priority was my comfort and he made sure I was numb before doing the procedure. I felt almost no pain. They called me the next day to make sure I was doing OK and to see if I had any questions. They emailed follow-up home care instructions, which have been very helpful. They’ve provided great care from the moment I walked and even into the next day with the follow up. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you!

Prestigious Smiles Dentistry in Houston, TX is incredible! My fear of the dentist far exceeds any desire to have healthy teeth and gums, which I know sounds crazy. I had been putting off seeing the dentist for so long, but I broke a tooth so I had to get it fixed - about time! Prestigious Smiles Dentistry said they had an opening less than 2 weeks out, so I took it. They took me back after just a few minutes in the lobby, and Dr. Zarghouni looked at it and fixed it right there. I was terrified when she brought the needle out, but it didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would. Everyone was so considerate, kind, and sympathetic because of my fear. Not only was my tooth broken, but my gums were not looking too good either. They were able to get me an appointment later that same day to work on them. Even though two dentist visits in one day is a bit scary, it wasn’t all that bad. I absolutely recommend them to every dental chicken like me! They aren’t as bad as what you’d think - give them a call!

This is the best dentist in Houston hands down. Dr. Mehta and his staff are kind, gentle and friendly. They treat you like an individual rather than just another person in the chair. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Mehta, it truly is a dream come true. They make everything easy, from scheduling an appointment to filling out very little paperwork, which can be done on a touch screen computer. My dental treatment was a breeze, and they took my fear of the dentist away. I would recommend this place to anyone. I’m so glad I found my primary dentist.

Can scaling and root planing help me reverse gum disease?

b
brush-whisperer-151

In many cases, gingivitis can be reversed with scaling and root planing (known as deep cleaning) and a strict routine of good hygiene and preventative dental care. However, if the condition progresses into periodontitis, then it might no longer be reversible, and will have to be controlled through regular periodontal maintenance.

What is scaling/root planing (Deep Cleaning)?

f
fluoride-achiever-2

Gingivitis marks the beginning of periodontal disease, and describes inflammation in the gums caused by excessive oral bacteria buildup (in the form of plaque and tartar). Because gingivitis occurs underneath the gums, routine dental cleaning won’t suffice to treat it. Scaling and root planing, also known as deep cleaning, involves removing plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. Then, your periodontist will smooth the roots of your teeth underneath the gums to discourage further oral bacteria buildup. As plaque and tartar accumulate on the roots, the buildup and resulting inflammation cause your gum tissues to recede slightly from your teeth. This creates deepening periodontal pockets where oral bacteria can continue to gather and multiply, worsening the infection and inflammation. Periodontal cleaning helps stop the infection by removing the films of plaque and tartar from your roots (scaling), and then smoothing their surfaces (planing) to inhibit bacterial buildup as your gums heal. In cases where gum disease has already developed, scaling and root planing should be followed by a strict schedule of checkups, cleanings, and periodontal maintenance. Your periodontist can prescribe appropriate treatment options, such as gingival grafting or pocket reduction surgery, to fortify your compromised tissues so you can recover from gum disease.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
