When he is not working in his private practice, Dr. Lou is traveling the country to attend post-graduate education and advanced training courses. Throughout his career, he has received training in oxygen-ozone therapy, neuromuscular occlusal health, integrative dental medicine, and cosmetic dentistry. He has lectured to other dentists on many topics as well, including holistic, health-oriented dentistry and craniomandibular health. The hygienist who cleaned and examined my teeth was careful and detail oriented. She was patient and was really thorough but also made sure I wasn’t experiencing any discomfort. I called Dr. Kaufman's office after having not been to a dentist in years. This was the best decision I could have possibly made. The entire staff at his practice is incredible! The assistants are very personable and knowledgeable. The receptionist manages appointments and does a great job accommodating my work schedule. I love that Dr. Kaufman truly cares about his patients. He is a very skilled yet honest dentist. I had a few awful experiences with dentists when I was younger, which caused me to have very high anxiety in regard to dental offices. Just recently, I started experiencing some pain, and I knew I had to either toughen up and schedule the appointment or live with it. Finally, my partner dragged me to their dentist Dr. Rafya Sandhu at the Westbury Smile Center. I was somewhat worried that my teeth were in horrible shape since it has been years since I have been seen. Dr. Sandhu and her staff reassured me everything was going to be ok, and that it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was. The entire team went out of their way to make me feel comfortable during my visit. I have a feeling that if Dr. Sandhu was my dentist when I was kid, I wouldn’t have so much anxiety or have neglected my teeth as I did. As it turned out, I had some cavities, and they fixed them up quickly. I was also in need of proper scaling. I plan on making this location in Westbury, NY my place for all of my dental needs.
