Education & Career

Dr. Daryn Nishikawa earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), before pursuing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the prestigious Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). Following graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), at the Ronald Reagan Hospital, where he gained specialized training in hospital-based dentistry. This experience focused on treating medically complex patients and caring for individuals with special needs.

After finishing his residency, Dr. Nishikawa spent time teaching at USC's School of Dentistry and working in private practice. In 2016, he helped develop the dental clinic at SpaceX in Hawthorne, serving as the lead dentist for two and a half years. In 2018, Dr. Nishikawa proudly became the owner of his own dental practice, where he continues to offer high-quality care to both the general public and patients with special needs in the South Bay area.

Additionally, Dr. Nishikawa has a strong background in Sports Dentistry, having volunteered as the Associate Team Dentist for the MLS Chivas USA team (2012-2015) and the MLS Los Angeles Football Club (2018-present). He also volunteers as a dentist for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

Personal Life

A lifelong Southern California resident and native of the South Bay, Dr. Nishikawa lives in Torrance with his wife, Dr. Camille, a pediatric dentist, and their son, Broderick (“Brodie”). The family enjoys spending time outdoors with their rescue dog, Harvey, and going on hikes. When they're not juggling family life, Dr. Daryn and Dr. Camille are passionate about playing golf, traveling, and attending USC football, Dodgers, Lakers, and LAFC games. On weekends, they can often be found strolling through Riviera Village, enjoying the local community and spending quality time with their families.

Dr. Rakesh Patel feels truly fortunate to have the opportunity to help his patients improve their health and appearance through personalized, high-quality dental care. Along with his talented team, he strives to deliver care tailored to each patient's unique needs, making every day an exciting journey as they serve a diverse group of patients.

Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing care in the most thoughtful and attentive manner. Patients can expect him to be approachable, honest, compassionate, and gentle in his approach. After earning his dental degree from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom in 1992, Dr. Patel completed an additional year of general dentistry training at the same institution. Always drawn to California, he obtained his California dental license in 1997 and has been practicing in the Inland Empire ever since.

Dr. Patel has lived in Corona for over 10 years with his wife and three children and is proud to be a part of the local community. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, hiking, and traveling. He is grateful for the opportunity to care for his patients and their families.

It is with great honor that Dr. Kyle S. Low has been chosen by Dr. Jack von Bulow to continue the legacy of Temple City Dental Care. Dr. Low has had the privilege of knowing Dr. von Bulow for three years, first as a mentor and now as a friend.

Dr. Low met Dr. von Bulow in 2019 at an Invisalign CE Course in San Jose, CA. This course was one of the most prestigious advanced Invisalign education programs for general dentists, with attendees selected by their peers and handpicked by the course director. Dr. Low, excited and nervous, found himself seated next to Dr. von Bulow, who was a chapter president and invited him to join his group. Dr. von Bulow’s infectious energy and enthusiasm made a lasting impression on Dr. Low, and the two stayed in contact through WhatsApp, a vital connection during the challenging times of 2020.

Dr. Low’s journey into dentistry was an unconventional one. Initially working in the import/export industry, he realized he wasn’t fulfilled and sought a career in healthcare. The hands-on, problem-solving nature of dentistry and the opportunity to shape his own practice inspired him to make a life-changing decision. Four months after proposing to his wife, Lena, Dr. Low left his job and enrolled in Chapman University’s Post-Baccalaureate program, where he completed the science courses needed to apply to dental school. He then attended UCLA School of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree in 2017. Dr. Low further honed his skills through a one-year residency at UCLA Venice Dental Center, where he was introduced to Invisalign, setting the stage for his path to meet Dr. von Bulow.

Dr. Low is both humbled and honored to carry on Dr. von Bulow’s mission of “Making a world-class difference for others and making dentistry fun.” With years of experience serving the San Gabriel Valley in South Pasadena since 2018, Dr. Low brings not only his professional expertise but also his personal life, including his three children—ages 7, 4, and 7 months—and his devoted partner, Lena, whom he has been with for the past 11 years. Through his work with Dr. von Bulow, Dr. Low has been deeply inspired by his vision for dentistry, his passion for the community, and his dedication to service. Dr. Low shares this same commitment to providing excellent care with empathy, integrity, and a focus on building relationships based on trust and respect.

Originally from San Francisco, Dr. Tsai now calls Rancho Cucamonga home, where he lives with his wife, their newborn daughter, and their American Eskimo dog. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality moments with family and friends, as well as staying active, indulging in sports, and watching movies.

Dr. Ethan Park’s journey to dentistry began in his early years, growing up in South Korea and Argentina, where he became involved in his family’s garment business. From a young age, he learned the value of hard work and dedication. While attending college, Dr. Park and his sister took on the responsibility of running the family business, managing the daily operations while still pursuing his dream of becoming a dentist. He attributes much of his success to the support of his team, who believed in him and helped him balance both responsibilities. Now, Dr. Park is excited to give back to the Temple City community by offering the best that modern dentistry has to offer.

Having studied dentistry in both Argentina and Puerto Rico over the course of more than a decade, Dr. Park is thrilled to bring his expertise to Temple City. He has a passion for the technological aspects of dentistry and enjoys helping patients restore their oral health with advanced dental treatments. Dr. Daniel D. Cheng is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-focused dental care with over 15 years of experience in private practice. His practice, which has built a trusted reputation in the community, was originally established 65 years ago in 1950.

Believing in the importance of continuous learning, Dr. Cheng stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry. After earning dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry/Chemistry and Economics from the University of California, San Diego, he went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He further honed his skills through an additional year of pediatric training and a variety of continuing education courses, including a post-graduate study in Restorative, Advanced Occlusion, and Prosthetic Techniques through the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education. Dr. Cheng is an active participant in the Stuart Gnathology Study Group and the Loma Linda Implant Study Group.

Dr. Cheng is a member of several prestigious dental organizations, including the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, and the Academy of Osseointegration. Previously, he served as Vice-President and board member for the Southern California Academy of General Dentistry and spent time in the USC Faculty Practice.

In addition to his professional work, Dr. Cheng is passionate about giving back to the community. He frequently volunteers his dental services through various medical and dental relief organizations and has participated in numerous mobile dental clinics, including Remote Area Medical, Care Harbor LA, and CDA Cares.

Dr. Martinez grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where his passion for helping others began at an early age. His interest in dentistry was sparked when he had to step in and help his younger sister with a loose tooth. Unable to access professional dental care, he used a pair of pliers from the family garage to pull the tooth and alleviate her discomfort. This moment made him curious about the field of dentistry and set him on the path to becoming a dentist.

After volunteering for two years at the Berkeley Free Clinic in Berkeley, CA, Dr. Martinez confirmed his desire to help others achieve their dental goals. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in integrative biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as a research associate for five years at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Martinez then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University School of Dentistry. He furthered his education by completing a post-graduate residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.

Today, Dr. Martinez cares for patients of all ages in Corona, combining his love for art, science, and medicine through dentistry. He values getting to know each patient personally, learning about their stories, and supporting their dental health needs. Driven by a passion for lifelong learning, Dr. Martinez is committed to providing the highest level of dental care.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Martinez is a devoted husband and father. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children, often sharing laughter and creating lasting memories. Dr. Suhail Beguwala has been a dedicated practitioner in the field of dentistry since 2005. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he majored in Neurobiology and Studio Art. He then went on to obtain his dental degree from the University of Southern California. With his strong background in both the arts and sciences, Dr. Beguwala brings a unique perspective to dentistry, allowing him to combine precision and creativity to craft beautiful smiles.

Passionate about continually advancing his skills, Dr. Beguwala actively pursues continuing education to stay current with the latest dental techniques and technologies. This commitment ensures that he can provide his patients with the most effective treatments that yield lasting results. He is also licensed in Sedation Dentistry, which allows him to help patients overcome dental anxiety and complete their necessary treatments comfortably. Dr. Burton Schnierow, DDS, has been serving the dental community for an impressive 58 years at Schnierow Dental. He began his dental journey at age 16, working in a dental lab, before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (USC). He then went on to graduate from USC School of Dentistry in 1962 at the age of 25. Afterward, Dr. Schnierow further honed his skills while serving in the Army, where he gained invaluable experience. In 1964, Dr. Schnierow opened his own practice in Hawthorne, where he has had the privilege of treating multiple generations of families—many of whom now bring in their grandchildren for care. Over the years, he has been blessed with a devoted and talented staff, whom he considers part of his extended dental family. Dr. Yvonne Shu-Rodriguez, a Chinese Ecuadorian, is fluent in three languages, making her an excellent choice for patients from diverse backgrounds. With a dental education from Ecuador and Colombia, she moved to California 35 years ago, where she furthered her studies in dentistry at USC. For the past 25 years, she has been serving the Pomona community, earning a reputation as one of the most respected and trusted dentists in California. Pomona Dental Practice, which she founded, is a true reflection of her dedication, offering a warm, welcoming environment that mirrors her own caring and dependable nature.

Dr. Pedram Sooferi discovered his passion for healthcare while attending Santa Monica College. He graduated from SMC two years later, and went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Los Angeles California. After earning the Dean’s Scholariship, Dr. Sooferi was accepted into UCLA’s School of Dentistry, on of the best dental schools in the country.

As a practicing dentist today, Dr. Sooferi continues to stay updated on current dentistry practices and techniques by attending continuing education courses. He has taken courses in cosmetic dentistry and envisaging orthodontics. He hopes that by continuing to learn and perfect his skills, he can provide beautiful smiles to his patients for years to come.

Dr. Toni Chen is excited to serve the community that has always been her home. Raised in San Marino and Arcadia, she graduated from Arcadia High School before continuing her education at UCLA, where she worked as a dental assistant and contributed to research that was published. During her time at UCLA, she also volunteered with community programs that supported inner-city children in academics, which inspired her love for working with kids.

Dr. Chen went on to pursue her dental education at USC, followed by two years of pediatric specialty training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. After completing her training, she eagerly returned to her hometown to begin private practice.

Outside of the office, Dr. Chen enjoys spending her weekends at the farmer’s market, biking along the Santa Monica Pier, playing tennis, and hiking the scenic trails around Santa Anita. She loves to travel, with recent adventures including white-water rafting with family and friends, as well as trips to Rome, Florence, Paris and Sienna. Despite her love for travel, her greatest joy is returning to work each week, where she looks forward to making a positive impact on her patients’ lives.

Dr. Jennifer Nguyen considers dentistry to be an art form. To help patients achieve their ideal smile, and to upkeep their oral health, Dr. Nguyen uses modern techniques and technology that ensure only the highest esthetics and quality. No matter what her patients’ hopes and concerns for their health are, Dr. Nguyen strives to help them however she can using individualized and effective treatment plans.

Dr. Nguyen earned her BS in Biochemical and Biophysics from the University of Houston. She attended the Western University of Health Sciences where she earned her Doctor of Dental medicine degree, and she earned her master’s in public health degree from the University of Texas. In 2002, Dr. Nguyen began her dental journey by volunteering at community clinics such as the HIV/AIDS clinic, county hospitals, and Healthcare for the Homeless. She then went on to study cleft lip and palate patients, advanced 3D digital imaging, and oral cancer at the University of Texas. Her research on detecting oral cancer, digital imaging using Cone Beam CT, and white spot lesions has been published in dental journals.

Today, Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, California Dental Association, Los Angeles Dental Society, Delta Sigma Delta Dental, Continuing Dental Education World, and the American Dental Association. She hopes to earn her Associate Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry soon.

Dr. Jack Pai has always had a deep passion for dentistry and believes there is no other career he would rather pursue. As a dentist, he finds great satisfaction and pride in his work. He is fortunate to lead a wonderful team that supports one another and the patients they treat. Dr. Pai finds it incredibly rewarding to see his team build strong, trusting relationships with their patients. Dr. Jim Tehrani is a graduate of the University of Southern California, earning his degree in 1997. Since then, he has committed himself to continuing education in various specialized areas of dentistry, including dental implants, Invisalign, TMJ, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Tehrani is certified in Invisalign I and II, offering his patients effective, clear orthodontic solutions.

Additionally, Dr. Tehrani is certified in laser dentistry, which allows him to provide less invasive and more comfortable treatments. He is an active member of respected professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Western Dental Society, and the California Dental Association. Dr. Tehrani’s comprehensive training and expertise ensure that his patients receive the highest quality of care across a range of dental services.

Dr. Jeff Kindseth’s interest in dentistry was sparked early in his life due to personal experiences with dental care. At the age of ten, he underwent a series of treatments, including orthodontics for his missing lateral incisors and jaw surgery to correct an underbite. These extensive procedures, guided by skilled dental professionals, not only improved his smile but also fostered a deep admiration for the work they did.

His own journey through dental treatments inspired Dr. Kindseth to pursue a career where he could make a similar impact on others.
