Dr. Wendelschafer’s interest in dentistry was sparked during high school when he had the opportunity to shadow oral surgeons his mother worked for. It was then that he realized he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. He never shied away from a challenge. As a student athlete, he earned a track scholarship while balancing the demands of studying, training, and working part-time installing metal roof panels in the Arizona heat. His determination led him to pursue a degree at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, where he graduated and then gained practical experience in a corporate dental setting in Mesa.

In time, Dr. Wendelschafer took over at Great Smiles Dental Care when the previous doctor retired, and he has since been dedicated to providing the communities of Surprise, Sun City, and beyond with healthy, beautiful smiles. He is passionate about helping his patients achieve their goals of good oral health and a fulfilling life through personalized, quality dental care. My first time here I came in because I had intense teeth and gum pain. After x-rays and a consult with Dr. Owens, he was able to do a quick bite adjustment and I had no pain. I hate going to the dentist, but these people were great, and the service was wonderful. They made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Peoria area.

Dr. Elizabeth is a proud graduate of the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree, before going on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following her dental education, she was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force, where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency.

During her nine years of active duty, Dr. Elizabeth had the opportunity to serve in diverse and impactful roles. She was the command dentist on a humanitarian mission to El Salvador, worked as a White House Social Aide to the President, and traveled globally as a combat medic, providing care to those who protect and serve our nation. After completing her military service, she returned to private practice and now serves as a managing partner at Arrowhead Family Dentistry. Dr. Elizabeth also continues to serve her country as a reservist in the United States Air Force.

A native of Phoenix, Dr. Elizabeth is thrilled to practice dentistry in the community where she grew up. She has been recognized as one of the best dentists in Peoria by *Three Best Rated*, and she is passionate about connecting with her patients to make them feel comfortable, valued, and well cared for. Dr. Elizabeth’s approach to patient care is rooted in building trust and providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare.

Dr. Pulkrabek is the best dentist near me! I’ve had a lot of dental work done, and honestly, he is the best I’ve ever had! The staff at Adrian Pulkrabek DDS in Glendale is so welcoming and kept me relaxed. I have horrible dental anxiety, but everyone helped put me at ease. His assistant was amazing, and she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire appointment - she treated me like a lifelong friend! When Dr. Pulkrabek started numbing me, I kept waiting for the needle poke, but I never felt anything. He set me up with teeth whitener, and I love the results. He also did some contouring on my front teeth, and it looks great! After years of not smiling because I was embarrassed by my smile, I know smile into every mirror and camera I see! I've been a patient here for 5 years now. The staff always makes sure I’m comfortable. I have to give a special shout out to the assistant, she’s absolutely wonderful. They let you listen to music to help you get distracted from the work they’re doing on your teeth if it makes you anxious. They even give you a card with your next appointment date on it. I couldn't believe it. I love this place so much that even if I have to move at some point in my life I plan on making my bi-annual appointments here, even if I have to fly to Phoenix.

I wish I could give Thomas & Thomas Dental more stars! Dr. Thomas and his staff deserve all the praise! I started going to him about eight years ago because I needed a root canal. I’ve heard all the awful root canal stories, but Dr. Thomas ensured I didn’t experience any of that! I had no pain at all during or after the procedure! When my dentist told me I needed a second opinion from an endodontist due to persistent tooth pain even after replacing my old fillings, I knew I’d go to Dr. Thomas. I called his office to book an appointment, and they fit me in that very day! I was so impressed because it was really late in the day! Dr. Thomas was as great as always - prompt, warm, funny, and smart. He knew just what was wrong with my tooth. He explained what was wrong and why he needed to redo the fillings my last dentist just put in. Dr. Thomas really loves his job and doesn’t do it for the money. He knew that I didn’t have insurance and was so empathetic. He offered to fix it right then at a reduced rate. I got the feeling that he wasn’t very happy that I just paid for the fillings he needed to replace. Tooth pain is awful, but Dr. Thomas can help fix you up! I no longer see that other dentist and only let Dr. Thomas work on my teeth from now on. If you live in Phoenix, AZ, I suggest you see him for all your dental needs!

My family has been going to Able Dental for about 2 years now, and we truly love it. As someone who used to work for a dentist in Phoenix, I feel as though I have enough knowledge to make an educated recommendation, and I would give this place 6 stars if I could. We have seen multiple dentists and hygienists here, and while they’re all wonderful I have to give Dr. Muscato a particular shout out, she rocks. Every visit is awesome, they truly take care of their patients here. (Even when my 8 year old son was throwing a fit). All of the staff are easy to talk to and professional. They have the latest technology to ensure you’re getting the best dental care. We never have to wait long in the waiting room, they’re very punctual. Their staff makes billing easy, even when we had questions regarding the dental plan. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

My friend recommended Mesa Dental Care and Dr. Nia and her hygienist a couple months ago, and I finally made an appointment the other day. They were very friendly on the phone, answered the questions I had about my discount dental plan that I signed up for in office, and they got me scheduled for the next week. When I got there the Patient Care Coordinator (what an awesome title) made me feel very comfortable. She went through a more detailed explanation of how my dental plan in Mesa Dental Care would work with the procedures that were going to be done. Then I met the doctors, who were even more friendly and professional than they were over the phone, which I didn’t think was possible. They walked me through the whole procedure and explained why photos and x-rays of my mouth were necessary. I think they could tell I was nervous and that I needed all the information they gave me in order to be reassured. I’ve had Mesa dentists who don’t answer my questions or tell me I need procedures that I really didn’t need, they just want to get more out of me. Dr. Nia didn’t do that. I usually hate dentists, but I’m very happy with this place’s work. I completely trust, and would recommend them to anyone, they really know their stuff.

I have been going to Dr. Kunthara for 3 years, and I don’t mind the extra drive from Phoenix, because that’s how great she is. She doesn’t treat you as just a patient, but rather a friend, and listens to your opinions about the health of your mouth and teeth. She still does training for herself and her staff to make sure they always have updated information, which keeps her office at the top of its game. No two visits are ever the same, as the team continues to learn and grow as dental professionals in Mesa, AZ. The service is great and everyone is very kind. Dr. Kunthara even gives her personal cell phone number for after-hours. If I ever have a dental emergency I can call her at any time.
